Cruzeiro Catamarã de Cairns e Jantar

I went on the Spirit of Cairns dinner cruise on Monday 22 June. Departure was 6.15 and we returned at 8.45 – 2 1/2 hours. Because it was mid-winter, it was completely dark and apart from the city lights, we couldn’t see a thing. We were pleasantly entertained on board by a man with a guitar. We were advised that the buffet would be table by table, but that there was plenty of food for everyone. Our table was the very last to be called up and there was quite a few items that were empty – so that meant that staff were not monitoring what was available. Two of the three salads – empty, two of the three hot dishes – empty – no beef, no barramundi – just the chicken, which was warm, and not hot. We waited for the beef to be brought out, but gave up on the barramundi. A few oysters and prawns were tucked away at the end of the line. When it came for the dessert, that was different, as it was anyone, anytime. The fruit board was excellent, but the cheese “board” was only one type. The “apple crumble” cheesecake was just a thick sauce, not baked or even gelatine based, with some very sweet stewed apple in the middle. The crew were pleasant and it was quite a nice evening, but was it worth the cost of $145.00 a head? Certainly not, there was nothing special with the food, maybe at half the price at $72.50, and that would really be the upper limit. Maybe in summer when you could see where we sailed, but in winter, when it’s dark, you might as well be still docked!

It was a great night cruising around Cairns harbour. The staff were fantastic and the food was great. The only negative I have is that the desserts provided were lacking in variety and quantity. The main course was fantatic with both quantity and variety but the desserts not so. Improve that and I would give 5 stars

It was disappointing that the only two children on the cruise were unsupervised by their parents, and were allowed to rummage through the buffet before dinner time. They were also seen selecting desserts and then putting them back on the buffet table. Parents supervised your children and teach them right from wrong, there were other paying customers on that cruise.

A perfect romantic evening on the water with my hubby. The Spirit of Cairns Dinner Cruise delivered amazing food, including fresh prawns, oysters, and delicious crocodile spring rolls. The drink selection was excellent, the service was fantastic, and the sunset views over Cairns made the night extra special. Highly recommend for a memorable date night or special occasion.

The food was absolutely incredible, including delicious gluten-free desserts, which was a wonderful surprise. The oysters were fresh, tasty, and definitely a highlight of the evening. I also tried the Spicy Margarita, which was really good and served in a very generous size compared to what you usually get elsewhere. We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday, and the crew made a lovely surprise for him, which made the experience even more special. The atmosphere, views, and service made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Cairns!

I had an absolutely unforgettable experience at this dinner cruise. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was incredible — every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with so much care and quality. The crew was amazing as well, extremely attentive, friendly, and made everyone feel welcome throughout the entire evening. The space itself was beautiful, comfortable, and created the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy the view. And the saxophone player… absolutely outstanding. The live music made the whole experience feel even more special and elegant. He created the perfect vibe for the night. Honestly, I would recommend this experience to absolutely everyone. Whether it’s for a special occasion or just to enjoy a memorable night out, it’s truly worth it. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

Certainly no Seafood Buffett as advertised and pictures, not worth the money as the seafood was very limited to prawns without flavour and oysters - neither were plentiful in number and not replenished once small bowl of prawns and plate of oysters supposedly to cater for 30 people. As a family 4 we did not even get an oyster and when staff were asked if there was more they said no more food available!!!! the only other seafood was small in fact tiny pieces of barramundi and heavily coated calamari without flavour. The staff while pleasant enough made communal cocktails at the bar and spent the night sucking up cocktail into the straws to then slurp - not a good look for us as customers seeing all. And then to have to pay an extra fee for fuel - which I don't mind if the rest of the dinner reflected the cost - however we were bullied into paying the amount by the blue haired girl who told me it was my fault for not paying previously - no where was a fuel charge quoted or indicated. And the lack of tea and coffee availability throughout cruise was noted by multiple customers who were wanting to have a drink. Would I recommend the cruise NO NO NO - and I have done many dinner cruises around the world so can speak from experience.
