I love caves and paleontology, so i couldn’t miss Sterkfontein cave, where some of the most important discoveries about our ancestrh took place. And the structure they made in Maropeng add to the site plenty of information and more. And the guide in between them, Marvin, can give you all kinds of backgrouds and stats from South Africa. A very pleasant day, for me.
Brilliant! Amazing place and fantastic driver! Loved the whole day! So much to see and learn particularly if you like learning about human ancestry. The caves are incredible.
I enjoyed this experience. My guided and driver, Marvin, was excellent. He was very kind and answered every question I asked. The cave required some crawling and scaling that you’ll want to be dressed for. The museum was very interesting.
This was an activity included in our G Adventures National Geopgraphic family safari to South Africa. They used very caves are amazing and huge! It was really fun and we actually crawled through a tight area on the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the anthropology involved here and the museum was comprehensive.
Great walk. The George from Viator very attentive and collaborative. It helped me a lot in getting to the place and even there with indication of the places where I should be.
It took an hour to visit the sites. Driver Rudzani kindly explained surrounding area on the way. Thank you. Pick-up around 9am and came back around 3pm. This tour includes entrance fee and guide at the site. I recommend you should bring lunch. Cave walk needs a bit exercises. Good guide there. Maropeng's small museum is interesting but boat attraction is poor.
Marvin se babe was a real character and so informative. Ask for him by name , a true gentleman
We had a wonderful time today with Milton! He was very knowledgeable and welcomed all our questions on many topics about the history and culture of South Africa. We came away with so much insight into South Africa and her people! And with a new friend! Thank you, Milton!
Our guide was Thabiso. He was amazing! We had easy and in depth conversations about all kinds of things. He was well informed and genuinely a good person. We really enjoyed our time with him.
Its well worth comming to both activities. The caves grants you a first han experience on South Africa's geological site, but much more into our ancestors and its fossils. Be mindful the cave require you to walk, and good running shoes is advice. Cradle of mankind is perfect for a family tour. I'm also pleased with my Operator, Marvin who made this day memorable. His service is always spot on, and such a friendly nature of his makes you feel welcome and share good conversations
