Itinerário
Começamos nosso passeio por Riad visitando o principal guardião da herança e cultura nacional saudita, o Museu Nacional. Hoje é um lugar de aprendizado e descoberta que abriga uma coleção única de artefatos e abrange toda a história da Península Arábica até a era moderna.
Após o Museu Nacional, continuamos até o vizinho Palácio Murrabba, que costumava ser a residência real onde o rei Abdulaziz hospedou sua corte. O palácio recebeu o nome de sua forma quadrada de 40 por 40 metros e hoje é um dos principais museus da cidade.
Adjacente ao Palácio Murabba, um edifício moderno abriga uma coleção de objetos pessoais do Rei Abdulaziz que faremos um breve tour. Esses lugares estão no centro do nascimento da nação saudita.
visitaremos o Forte Masmak que fica a poucos passos do Old Souq e cuja importância está ligada à criação do 3º Reino Saudita, o moderno em que vivemos. O palácio fortificado foi construído durante o reinado de Abdullah bin Rashid no ano 1895 d.C. para servir como guarnição militar para o exército Abdullah bin Rashid.
seguiremos para a famosa Kingdom Tower e sua Sky Bridge para ver Riad de um ponto de vista panorâmico a quase 300 metros acima da cidade.

Tour guide was just a driver. Hardly any info on the city. He was good at drop off & pick up. We hardly knew much about Riyadh at end of the day.

Moosa was nice and friendly but bad luck all around as the fortress was closed -he didn’t know- the Souq hasn’t much to offer, the king tower inaccessible till 4 pm (tour ended already at lunch time) and to make up the lost time I invited Moosa to join me for lunch which he refused. Ending up me having lunch by myself with a guide sitting in his car outside. He wasn’t hungry but even joining for a drink he couldn’t, disappointing day and the tour operator just drives you to places not really participates. On top of that I paid for 2 as there’s no option paying for just one person.

The guide is taking you to several sights of interest. They will not walk inside of the sights with me. So, they are more of a driver than a guide in the traditional sense. However, it’s a great way to get to see places of relevance in Riyadh. I enjoyed the tour and my conversations in the car.

We were picked up at the hotel on time, which is not a given with the traffic. Visiting the market and the fortress is interesting, although there is not much going on in the market. The museum is made exciting, but the midday meal is a bit of a bust, bland rice and half a chicken, two sauces with it... You can do better than that. Last we visit the Skybridge and enjoy the great view.

The sites were spectacular. I highly recommend this tour especially with a small group. The open market was disappointing.
