$60 for 2hrs non guided tour. Very nice staff and was a fantastic time. Did the self guided tour. Had to open google maps a couple times to see where exactly we were but was easy enough. Nice beach access at the end with lots of great shell finds. No public restrooms really anywhere near, especially if you are already out on the water. So definitely something to plan ahead for.
Great experience We went off to the right side of the bridge and to a little beach area. It was super beautiful
Excellent experience! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and flexible. We would definitely come back! The beach is beautiful and not too far from where you launch, and the route is easy to paddle, which makes for a safe and enjoyable experience. The mangroves are absolutely spectacular and were definitely one of the highlights. Highly recommended!
Check the tides before you go. My wife and I booked a clear bottom tandem “kayak” to get the best possible opportunity for us to experience Bonita Springs and the manatees and aquatic life during our time there. The boat is basically a smaller clear canoe and is about 8’ long. I would not recommend these boats. They are very difficult to get to track straight. I’m sure it’s due to usage. However the length of the boat is a problem because the seating positions are such that you cannot help but hit oars with the other person. We were unable to paddle the boat against the tide currents for more than 45 minutes and we didn’t even reach the first checkpoint. That was extremely disappointing, as we had to let the current bring the boat back downstream to the launch area after absolutely exhausting both of us. We own kayaks and use them frequently. If we would have had a regular kayak, it still would have been pretty tough but we would have made it more than quarter mile that we did. Recommend staying away from the clear boats. The gentleman running the boat rental and tours said that we should have checked the tides prior to booking and we would have done much better. He did offer us a free hour upon our next visit but we live in Wisconsin and will most likely not be returning to the exact same location.
Hey there, I’m sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience. You went out during what’s known as a king tide, when tidal movement and currents can be exceptionally strong. On our maps, we do show an easier route to the beach specifically for situations where guests are traveling against the current. It’s possible you took the main channel rather than the easier route. The alternate route is much more manageable and is suitable for a wide range of experience levels. Our clear kayaks also don’t track quite as well as some of our traditional kayaks, which is something we try to make guests aware of when conditions are less favorable. Unfortunately, we can’t control the tides or currents, but we do our best to explain the map, recommended route, and current conditions before each rental so guests can make the trip as comfortably as possible. We also work hard to provide good value by including extras such as dry bags, carbon-fiber paddles, and shelling bags at no additional charge. We appreciate you giving us a try, and we hope you’ll consider visiting us again in the future under more favorable tidal conditions.
Had an absolute time doing this tour especially with our tour guide Doug. He was full of so much info, learned alot of things. We got to see dolphins and manatee right beside our boat which made my entire trip down here. Recommend doing this tour! You won't be disappointed. Thanks for making our trip Doug:)
My boyfriend surprised me with a kayaking activity for my birthday, and since I had never been kayaking before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m so glad we chose this experience! Doug was our guide, and he was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable and shared so many fun facts throughout the tour, which I really enjoyed. He even brought cold water for us and gave us some great recommendations for lunch afterward. There was so much conversation and laughter throughout the entire tour, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We were also lucky enough to see manatees and several different birds along the way! Overall, this was an amazing introduction to kayaking, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if it’s your first time kayaking!
Doug was absolutely awesome! I booked this kayaking tour for my girlfriend’s birthday, and since it was her first time kayaking, I really wanted it to be a great experience. Doug definitely made that happen. He was extremely knowledgeable about the local ecosystem and made the whole tour fun and comfortable. We had great conversations, shared stories about life, and even got lucky enough to spot a manatee! By the time the tour was over, it honestly felt like I had known Doug for a lifetime. Definitely the best part of our day, no doubt. Thanks again, Doug, for making my girlfriend’s birthday and first kayaking experience so memorable. We’ll definitely be back to rent kayaks, and if Doug is available, I’d even book another tour with him. 10/10! And PS — Doug is an awesome photographer too! He got some really great pictures of us throughout the tour, which gave us even more memories to take home.
We booked the 9am self kayak tour. We didn’t get started till 9.30ish as there was a group before us. Pros: the path we were supposed to take was clear, kayaks and paddles were in great condition, wet bags were provided if needed (seemed to be free of cost), owner/staff are not picky about time cut off to return equipment, saw birds and needle fish. Cons: the ratio of staff to clients was small, the staff didn’t seem too aware of the water level in some areas of the path- the mangroves were too shallow for a tandem glass bottom kayak to pass, we didn’t see a variety of wildlife (likely due to the timing). If this is your first time kayaking in the area, I would recommend a guided tour to get the most out of it.
My first time paddle boarding and had a great experience! Friendly staff and best value for your money. Repeat customers get an hour for free so definitely will be re-booking. Paddled through mangroves then out on channel to beach where there was great shelling. Even saw a few dolphins!
We got single standard kayaks for 2 hours! Greeted well, good communication and service. Saw many different types of birds, tiny crabs on mangroves and two manatees at the beach area! Had a great time!
