The best private tours we have ever been on! Alex Paolini was our guide. He was prompt, knowledgeable and showed us everything we wanted. Our Trevi Fountain tickets were ready for us and he knew the city like the back of his hand. He even made reservations for us at an authentic and delicious restaurant! Our whole day could not have been easier or more enjoyable. A must book tour!

Peter was our Driver from the Cruise Port to all over Rome. Peter was super Professional Driver and Tour Guide. We got to see all the main Attractions and visited Vatican Square, I would recommend and Ask for Peter , he knows all roads around Rome. Yes very happy with Viator and our trip to Rome. ✅👍😁

Probably one of the best tours we have ever been on. Alex Paolini was our guide and he was phenomenal. He confirmed the night before, showed up early the day of and had a sign with our name which made it a breeze as we walked off the cruise ship. He was full of knowledge and accommodating throughout the entire trip. He took us to everywhere we wanted to go and also went out of his way to make sure we had tickets to the Trevi Fountain. Not only did he suggest a great place for lunch but he also made sure we had reservations. Stress free day in Rome (I cannot imagine doing it any other way), I would highly recommend this tour!

We booked a private day tour with Alex Paolini in Rome and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Alex took us everywhere on our list and never once made us feel rushed. He’s incredibly personable — within an hour it felt like we were traveling with a friend rather than a guide. His knowledge is outrageous. No matter what we asked, history, architecture, local customs, food, he had a real answer, and usually a good story to go with it. He also knows every back road, so while other groups sat in traffic, we were already at the next stop. Lunch was a standout. He’d made reservations ahead of time at a fantastic local spot, and we walked straight into a packed restaurant with no wait. Authentic food, excellent service, exactly the kind of place you’d never find on your own. Alex made us feel right at home in Italy. If you’re considering a private tour, book him.

This was fantastic! Our driver, Alex Paolini, couldn’t have been better. He texted us the night before to greet us and then again the morning of our tour. He sent us detailed instructions on where to find him when we got off of the ship. He stopped on the way to Rome to let us use the restroom and then continued our journey. He took us to the Vatican (where we got to see the Pope!!), the Trevor Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Colosseum. He answered all of our questions along the way, gave us fun facts, and even taught us some Italian slang. We couldn’t find the last pickup point (despite him sending us coordinates - we are all directionally challenged), so I sent him our location and within 2 minutes he picked us up. We would definitely use Alex again, no question!

Perfect day in Rome. Our driver Paolo was fun, friendly, informative, and professional. We gave him our priorities of where to visit, and he managed it flawlessly. Kept the pace one that was enjoyable and didn’t feel rushed. Even threw in some hidden gems that were off the tourist maps. Couldn’t have asked for a better taste of Rome.

We had a very good day visiting Rome from the cruise port of Cividavecchia.The driver Paolo was waiting off the cruise gangway when we walked out, following our names on the sign he held. No need for shuttle bus. We started the day being chauffeured around in a large Mercedes minivan with all the expected comforts. The AC was in full blast to counter the early morning heat in late August weather. Paolo explained all interesting local and historical tidbits when we’re on the way to Rome. Small van tour is the best way to visit Rome in a day. We didn’t have to walk too far at all. Paolo literally dropped us off right in front of the places we wanted to visit, and we were on our own way. We summoned him back with a text and he’s ready at the rendezvous point to pick us up to the next destinations. I’ve heard horror stories from others that they had to walk 30-40 minutes to a destination when taking a trip on large full-size bus, as large bus has to use designated parking spaces far from any destinations, 30-40 minutes walk one-way, not to mention the heat of the summer. Paolo took us to 9 places around Rome, which obviously we cannot do it ourselves without the intimate local knowledge to get around. The cost of a private tour is more than a shared large tour, but it was so worth it considering all the walking one has to do in a large shared tour. For us, it was a very well-spent trip. We would not hesitate to do it again. Not sure if you can ask for a particular driver, but Paolo is the one to get if possible. At the end of the day, Paolo dropped us off a few steps from the gangway, and we’re back to the cruise ship before 4:30PM, in time to hit the buffet for some afternoon snacks.

I spent the day with Beatrice who was the most wonderful driver and aficionado of all things Rome. She was friendly and kind as well. What a joy to have been so lucky to have her help me see all things Roma.
