Caminhe pela Marina Beach, ao longo do trecho principal de 3 km da Marina Beach, e você passará por partidas de críquete, pipas, cartomantes, mercados de peixe, torrefadores de milho e famílias aproveitando a brisa do mar.
Nós visitamos uma organização monástica única chamada Ramakrishna Math, dedicada a Sri Ramakrishna, o santo do século XIX. Os hóspedes poderão ver o templo universal, o santuário, um belo Mantapam, um museu multimídia e uma biblioteca encantadora.
Fort St George é a primeira fortaleza inglesa construída em 1644 pela Companhia das Índias Orientais. Visitaremos a Igreja de Santa Maria, a mais antiga Igreja Anglicana da Índia. Nosso evangelista cultural levará você a um pitoresco museu repleto de relíquias dos tempos coloniais e recontará a história de como a empresa das Índias Orientais transformou-se de uma empresa comercial em governante da Índia!
Seguimos em direção a Mylapore, um antigo bairro residencial de Chennai cuja história remonta aos tempos romanos, quando costumava trocar pimenta e tecidos finos com Roma por ouro! Visitamos o magnífico templo Kapaleeshwar. Construído no século VII, este templo é dedicado ao Senhor Shiva. Construído em arquitetura de estilo dravidiano, possui um imponente “Gopuram”. Os hóspedes podem esperar uma experiência fascinante de rituais e serenidade dentro do templo. Nosso evangelista cultural vai desmistificar os acontecimentos no templo!
Este é um templo dedicado a Sai Baba, o grande místico que uniu hindus e muçulmanos e pregou sobre o amor universal e a fraternidade. O templo é construído com mármore branco e tem uma lâmpada que está acesa há mais de 100 anos
Exploraremos o memorial de Swami Vivekananda, que foi um grande filósofo. Seus discursos no Parlamento Mundial das Religiões, em setembro de 1893, o tornaram famoso como orador por direito divino e como mensageiro da sabedoria indiana para o mundo ocidental. Às segundas-feiras está fechado e visitaremos o Museu Egmore.
Visitamos a famosa Basílica de São Tomé, a principal igreja da Arquidiocese Católica Romana de Madras e Mylapore. Podemos ver relíquias de St Thomas aqui. É uma das três únicas igrejas do mundo que foram construídas sobre o túmulo de um apóstolo. As outras duas são a Basílica de São Pedro, no Vaticano, e a Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, na Espanha.

We had a nice private day tour of Chennai city with tour guide Rajesh. He gave a great intro to city and sites. Ended the day with shopping areas as well. We enjoyed it very much. Worth day tour.

Really good tour around the major sites, our guide was very friendly and helpful but English and explanations could have been a bit better and more expansive. Good driver, felt very safe.

Comfortable travelling Our guide, Venkat, was extremely pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and a joy to spend time with.
