Diogo from Odyssey Tour of Sintra, Pena Palace, Regaleira and Cascais felt like a marathon through a fairytale with snacks missing. Sintra is basically “stairs disguised as romance,” but somehow worth every breathless step. Pena Palace looks like a king told a LEGO set to “go wild” with colours and views. Quinta da Regaleira is where you half expect a wizard to ask for directions out of a secret tunnel. Then Cascais arrives like a reward level: ocean breeze, chill streets, and suddenly your legs forgive Diogo again.
The guide Ivo was very knowledgable and shared lot of information about Portuguese culture and history. We had a great time touring with him. I highly recommend to others visiting Lisbon.
I’ve was the best. great driver. very informative. really exceeded expectations in every way possible. definitely take a tour with Ivo!
we really enjoyed visiting sintra and cascais and then we had an authentic lunch with a history lesson on the culture!
This is a don’t miss experience! Hugo and Joaquim are absolute gems. Would give 10 stars! Hugo was beyond knowledgeable- his grasp of the country’s complete history was incredible. His love for his country is infectious! Biggest recommendation: DO NOT EAT A BIG BREAKFAST BEFOREHAND! It is not simply a charcuterie but a complete meal+ worth of food and wine. We had the pleasure of enjoying our meal with both Hugo and Joaquim and their insight and company were so appreciated. Went with family (3 of us in our early 30s and my 83 year old grandmother!) Enjoy and tip well!
We took a tour with Joaquim & he was an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable & attentive. He gave us enough time at each site & we couldn’t ask for a better guide! Joaquim made our experience awesome & we would book with him again in a heartbeat.
This is an excellent way to spend the day outside of Lisbon city. Joaquim is a unique personality with a great deal of information to share. The small group (up to 8) is a very good way to meet a few new fellow travelers. The tour is well organized and Joaquim is very familiar with the right places to stop for photos. He will also allow you enough time to explore the locations. Not to reflect on the tour or its guide, you need to be aware that the Palacio Nacional de Pena is a VERY popular tourist destination. So be prepared for the crowds. Thank you Joaquim for a very enjoyable day and an excellent experience.
Our tour guide Joaquim (also the director I think) is very knowledgeable and knows all the ins and outs of Sintra/Cascais/Lisbon area. He picked a good day for us and we enjoyed the Santini icecream he recommended (we had one in Cascais and another in the Timeout Market in Lisbon). Although we skipped the Cabo da Roca, we don't feel we missed anything. We enjoyed Queluz Palace (nice quiet place that you can buy your Pena Palace ticket there to skip the line), the Sintra Village and the Pena Palace (always a lot of people). Next time when we have enough time, we will visit Quinta da Regaleira for the day. We enjoyed the beach stop, the Hell's mouth along the coast line and relaxed at the Cascais town.
