Qoricancha, ou o "Pátio Dourado", era o local mais importante dedicado ao culto do deus sol. As paredes já foram revestidas com folhas de ouro. Neste local foi construído o convento que hoje leva o mesmo nome, com estruturas de pedra polida. O edifício apresenta uma fachada notável em estilo renascentista e uma torre barroca singular, além de uma impressionante coleção de pinturas da escola de Cusco.
O nome Saqsayhuaman significa “falcão satisfeito” em quíchua. Esta fortaleza foi construída para proteger a cidade de Cusco dos invasores orientais e é um excelente exemplo da arquitetura militar inca. Construída com enormes blocos de granito, alguns dos quais atingem até 5 metros de altura e pesam até 350 toneladas, consiste em três grandes terraços delimitados por colossais muros de pedra que se estendem por até 300 metros de comprimento. Devido à sua proximidade com Cusco, também serviu como pedreira para alguns dos edifícios coloniais da cidade.
Qenqo era um centro cerimonial inca com túneis e plataformas usados para rituais e cerimônias religiosas, demonstrando a importância espiritual deste local para a civilização inca. Qenqo apresenta entalhes, buracos, degraus e canais, provavelmente usados para depositar chicha (uma bebida à base de milho) em rituais incas.
Puca Pucara também é conhecida como a fortaleza vermelha porque as pedras com que foi construída adquiriram essa cor devido aos seus altos níveis de ferro. Além da fortaleza, outras estruturas arqueológicas como aquedutos, recintos e fontes podem ser vistas. Devido à sua proximidade com Tambomachay e às suas características, acredita-se que tenha constituído um forte militar para a defesa deste local.
Conhecido como o "Banho Inca", Tambomachay era um centro cerimonial dedicado ao culto da água e um local de descanso para o monarca Inca. É feita de rochas esculpidas, que formam um belo conjunto de canais e cachoeiras, provenientes de nascentes. Fim dos serviços.

This was a great introduction to the archaeological sites around Cusco, our guide was knowledgeable, led us around the sites efficiently avoiding long ticket lines, and allowed plenty of time to walk around and take photos. I especially appreciate the option at Saqsayhuaman to choose whether to return on the bus or spend as much time as we wanted then walk back on our own. I chose to spend over 2 hours exploring the stunning site taking my time and had small picnic lunch that I recommend packing if you do this. Finally, I really enjoyed the roughly 30 minute mostly down hill walk through some picturesque residential streets back to the city center.
A fabulous Inca place, overlooking the city of Cusco!!!! We wonder how such a site could have been built when we see the size of the stones and their weight!!!!! It is advisable to take several hours to visit the entire site which is very extensive!!!!! Note that the welcome of Peruvians is really warm and really changes from that of French

I wouldn't recommend this experience to an English speaker. The guide was difficult to understand and the tour was rushed due to the guide needing to explain everything in two languages at each stop.
This place is really nice but after exploring Machupichu, the Sacred Valley or Sacsaywaman everything seems pretty much the same. Don't get me wrong I was fascinated with the majestic constructions but after a while, I got tired of it. It is worthy to see it. I suggest going there before going to Machupichu.

An amazing place, rain or no rain. The history of the place is amazing. Our guide told us how they moved the stones and part of the Inca structure, Seeing him in person is surprising. The pictures are great next to the big rocks and the windows still standing
