City tour de Santo Domingo: história do Caribe

Didn't stop at all the stops as per itinerary. Spent more time shopping than sightseeing. The visit to the Los tres ojos cave was rushed. We didn't get to go to the last cave. The guide said we don't have enough time. There were 53 people on our bus. If you go there, go with a smaller group. For 2 people we paid $178 which was too much.

Very good Service, we did very well, the driver was very friendly, Maximum, always punctual and very knowledgeable of the story, they catch tea and fun the trip. Thanks for the experience.

We went to know Santo Domingo, an unforgettable experience, top excellent clown, you can see that he enjoys his work, friendly and super cultured, super recommended. Ten out of ten.

Even though it had few ratings, we decided to go because of the quick response from the administrators on TripAdvisor, but the experience we had was really terrible. 1. First they picked us up in a car, and then we waited 40 minutes at a gas station for the van that would take us to Santo Domingo. 2. Once we took the van, it took 4 hours to get to Santo Domingo due to the countless times it stopped along the way. 3. We just met our guide in the three eyes, who was almost arriving in Santo Domingo. 4. The guide had very little interaction with us, in fact we learned more about the history of Santo Domingo with a couple who also took the tour and were already informed of the history in advance. 5. The tour in the center of Santo Domingo literally lasts 1 hour, and of that hour you lose 20 minutes entering the church. 6. Not to mention the driver. He drove badly. In fact we crashed twice. He was speeding and talking on his cell phone while driving. He braked very abruptly on the road. The experience was really terrible. I don't recommend it at all.

Beautiful city, a lot of history. They are recovering several streets in the historic area which will complement the tourist offer it already has, be sure to visit its museums and ecological reserves, there is something for all ages.

It wasn’t what we expected and it was a bit confusing if you wanted to tour in English. It also is a really long day. We did not plan for that and we really tired at the end of it.

Beware of the schedule. It is advertised from 6am but actually picked us at 7:30… with a 25 min delay: 8:00am. On the way to Santo Domingo they chose the longer route though La Romana. At the end we came back at 7pm. So it was wrongly (and ok purpose?) advertised as shorter time.

We had very little time in the national tres ojos park the guide from the park was good. We spent most of the time in the bus. The tourguide was ok. The tour In santo domingo was not what we expected. And a bit boring. The guide took us twice to a souvenirsshop in the hope we spent our money there. We had no free time for other shops or the buy souvenirs. The drive back to the hotel afther the change from the big touringcar into a small bus was terrible. Ower driver did not know the way to all the hotels to drop off the passengers so we where driving a lot in cirkels en it took very long before he had found our hotel.

The tour itself is nice and informative, but one person takes you from the hotel to the meeting point were another person in another car takes you to Santo Domingo and they didn’t explain to us how it would work. There was a lot of people there and one person say to go to this van and another say “no go to the other one” very confusing and unorganized and that killed a lot of time. Felix our tour guide was very nice though.

Tripadvisor's mark-up is 50% and it really shows. This tour was not value for money. We generally try and avoid writing bad reviews but feel we have to share our experience on this tour as it was a disaster from start to finish. We went from one petrol station to the next to meet the group and waited for over an hour until clients started shouting: 'Let's go'. It was like musical chairs with people getting on and off the bus. One couple threatened with leaving the tour before it had begun due to the cramped conditions. We really wish we had at this point! Four adults were sat on the back seats and I was over the wheel so I had nowhere to put my feet. The journey was a few hours each way. The guide fell out with one of the clients enroute. He may have had his reasons, but he did not handle the situation very professionally - involving all clients and threatening to leave the tour. We thought it was a prank but alas no. When we eventually made it to Santo Domingo, which is a lovely city by the way, we learnt so little. The guide took us from one shop to the next. He was clearly on commission as he didn't hurry clients at all. They were taking so long in one shop that he sent the others in the group to the cathedral with one of the many police officers that he introduced us to. Turns out he hadn't paid and so we ended up waiting outside the cathedral for an age. We bailed and headed into the square for a much-needed break. After the visit, one client went AWOL and the guide made little effort to find her. He said she could make her own way back to Punta Cana - openly complaining about her in front of thr group. When we finally got back to the hotel, we were thoroughly disappointed and exhausted. This is a day of our holidays that we cannot get back. Save your time and money, and do not book this tour.
