O Wat Rong Khun é o maior destaque de Chiangrai, fundado em 1997 pelo artista mais famoso da Tailândia chamado Chalermchai Kositpipat. Este é um templo único que se destaca pela cor branca e pela utilização de pedaços de vidro no gesso, brilhando ao sol. A cor branca significa a pureza do Buda e a arquitetura do templo combina o design moderno tailandês e Lanna Thai, que simboliza o paraíso budista.
O Triângulo Dourado é a fronteira da união de 3 países; Tailândia, Mianmar e Laos, em um só lugar. Fica a 9 quilômetros ao norte de Chiang Saen, ao longo da estrada ribeirinha do Mekong. Sop Ruak é o lugar onde o rio Mekong, fronteira entre a Tailândia e o Laos, encontra o rio Ruak, fronteira entre a Tailândia e Mianmar. No passado, o Triângulo Dourado foi a grande fonte mundial de tráfico de drogas devido à sua localização privilegiada ligada a muitos países. No entanto, atualmente é bem cuidado e se torna uma atração turística popular. Do mirante, o turista encontrará o terreno que liga os três países, rodeado pelo longo e calmo rio Mae Kong.
A construção do templo foi iniciada pela comunidade local em 1996 para substituir um antigo templo abandonado que anteriormente existia no local, embora a construção só tenha começado em 2005. Seu projeto final foi realizado pelo artista local chamado Sala Nok. Wat Rong Suea Ten se traduz como “Casa do tigre dançante”. O templo recebeu o nome dos tigres que antes vagavam pela área. A imagem do Buda na capela tem mais de seis metros de altura e data de 2008. Chama-se Buda Rajamongkol Bodhi Trilokanat.
Wat Huay Pla Kang foi fundado em 2005, projetado por um verdadeiro visionário, o que explica seu estilo incomum que é conhecido por sua arquitetura única, construída no estilo chinês-Lanna. O templo tem três locais principais para experimentar, como; - A estátua de Guanyin é uma das principais atrações, erroneamente chamada de Grande Dama Buda, Guan Yin era a lenda da Deusa Budista, que é uma divindade importante na escola budista Mahayana. Nesta parte, podemos pegar o elevador até o topo da estátua no andar 25-26 e ver a vista de Chiang Rai da cabeça da estátua de Guanyin.
A fonte termal de Mae Khachan fica a meio caminho de Chiangmai a Chiangrai, que é cercada por montanhas, é classificada como uma das melhores fontes termais do norte, que tem não apenas uma vista maravilhosamente natural do norte, mas também muitas coisas interessantes dentro das quais atrair visitantes tailandeses e estrangeiros. Há uma boa água mineral para os pés mergulharem em seu jardim para relaxar, e o viajante também pode comprar ovos de galinha para ferver na água quente natural e tomar um bom café nas terras altas de Chiangrai.

It was a long 13-hour day, but a truly memorable experience! Our guide, M, was excellent. He drove safely, kept the car spotless and well air-conditioned, and provided us with cold water and tasty local snacks throughout our journey. He also regularly checked in to see if we needed bathroom or stretch breaks, which made the long drives much more manageable. Our first stop was the Thaweesin Chiang Rai Hot Springs. We got the opportunity to soak our feet in the warm thermal water which was very relaxing. Every now and then a straight stream of water would shoot up in the air by the entrance to this place, a chance to take an awesome photo! Be sure to visit the roti food stand where the owner will make fresh roti with all sorts of fillings. We shared the banana roti which tasted amazing! The temples were stunning, especially the Blue Temple, which was our favorite of the day. The boat ride on the Mekong River was a fun and unique experience. Although the Laos border was closed that day and we couldn’t cross over, we still really enjoyed learning about the Golden Triangle’s history and seeing the point where three countries meet. M our tour guide took lots of fantastic photos of us, a perk of choosing a private guide over a public one. You can ask as many questions as you want and the pace is yours only. Overall, we’re glad we did the tour, but it’s definitely a long haul. If you have the time, we’d recommend spreading it out over two days for a more relaxed pace. Still, it was a fantastic way to see some of Northern Thailand’s most iconic landmarks in a single trip.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience with Mr. Big on 2/7/25. Picked us up at hotel, drove to all destinations while chatting with us in learning more about Thailand. He took us around the popular temples in bypassing the tour bus crowds while taking our pictures which looked professional. The boat ride to Golden Triangle and Laos was exceptional, having beer and exploring the market with its different knockoff items. Was a very long day that ended 13 hours after it started. I highly recommend Mr. Big for your tour guide to ask for. A good guide!!

John was my fabulous guide. He was like a walking encyclopedia with lots of information. He was patient, a great photographer, cab driver, and humorous. The tour is one of the highlights of my trip . The WHITE temple was gorgeous! Ask for John if possible.
