There were 7 of us on this wonderful Wine, Cheese & Charcuterie tasting and walking tour. It was the 3rd time my husband and I have done tours with this company and each one is better than the one before, and they were ALL excellent!! Rafael, the owner of the company is always so informative and makes everyone feel comfortable very quickly. The food was great, the wine even better. He met us at the port and walked us back after it was over. All 7 of us were very happy with the tour. I am sure that when we return we will be contacting Hungry Whales and Rafael for another great experience. I highly recommend this company.

What an incredible experience at Hungry Whales! We did the wine and cheese tasting experience, it was located at their new showroom, which was beautifully decorated and very relaxing. The cheese, food, wine and most important the experience they provided was over the top amazing!! We learned about local vines, the history of wine making on the island, the history of the island itself, the background to their world renowned Azorean cheeses and so so much more! We left extremely full, and wine satisfied. They were very abundant in their quantities! We loved the experience so much, we booked another one of their tours. The whole staff went over and above for me and my wife! Fred our sommelier was like a brother to us. Can’t say enough about this amazing experience! Highly highly recommend while visiting Ponte Delgada!!!! 10/10

We had a fantastic evening with Andre and Daniella tasting wines and cheeses from the Azores! Mmmmmmm! Delicious cheeses and amazing wines. They were very knowledgeable about the history and details of the wines as well as the cheeses. We highly recommend this tour! You will love it!

Very nice Azores wine & cheese experience. Raphael and Daniela kind and gracious hosts. Did an excellent presentation on all the varieties of wines and cheeses.

A new accommodation has recently been taken into use.Reception moderate and matt.Unlit reception room without music.After 20 minutes awkward waiting time we are requested to take the stairs to the next floor.For guests with walking difficulties such as one of our fellow guests awkward.Also in the room where the wine and cheese tasting takes place no atmosphere.Fierce lighting no music. Fred, our host, spins his standard story between each round of cheese and wine tasting and leaves the room. There would be allowance for a gluten intolerance.The rice crackers used for the occasion were old and chewy. The meeting went without any significant atmosphere. This really needs improvement. Cheese and wines incidentally tasty.Price quality ratio in our opinion out of balance.

Fred was so knowledgeable & had a great sense of humor which made the evening fantastic. All the wines & cheeses were delicious & the new location was great as well. Really enjoyed the evening. Worth the price paid.

Such an amazing evening ! Rafael hosted and presented us with fabulous cheese, wine, fruit, crackers and bread from the Azores. He gave us incredible insight into cultural and history of the Azores and the wine producing history and culture.

One of our favorite things we did in Ponta Delgada! Rafael did a great job and was very welcoming and informative. His home is beautiful and it was such a special experience.
