Our guide, Nathan, was excellent in explaining the history of multiple foods, the local buildings, and other wonderful features associated with King Street in Charleston. We had five food stops including biscuits, banana bread, sweet tea, shrimp and grits, and waffles and chicken. Although each of the dishes may not have been 5-star quality, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour and the tasty dishes.

We had a wonderful tour today walking along King Street in downtown Charleston. Our guide, Nathan, was excellent and pointed out many of the historic buildings along the way. We learned a great deal about the history of Southern foods and enjoyed sampling Southern dishes at five separate restaurants, including biscuits, chicken and waffles, banana bread, sweet tea, and shrimp and grits. Not sure the foods are actually of 5-star quality, but they did give us a good understanding of the region. This tour is highly recommended!
