this is a fun experience however I had put on my reservation that my daughter had SEVERE allergies to shellfish, fish, peanuts, and nuts. And our place settings when we arrived had shrimp and tuna.. The sandwiches on the trays also contained fish and nuts. There were no alternatives and my daughter could only drink the tea and the water. We paid for the premium so it was a very expensive experience for her to just drink a bottle of water and some tea. The experience itself is really fun. Our hostess Annette was amazing and I do not hold her responsible for the fish and nut situation. She was a gracious hostess and had an amazing voice. so despite my one star review, I would recommend this experience, but not for someone with food, allergies. I really think that I should be reimbursed at least for my daughter’s ticket. We’re at the very least, receive a credit.
A fun event. The food was delicious. The bus was decorated and very clean. Loved being on the top section of the bus.
I was very disappointed with this Tea Tour experience, especially considering that I purchased two Luxe tickets for over $200. "For the price paid, I expected a much higher level of attention to guests and a more enjoyable overall experience." Unfortunately, I never received any tea during the tour. I repeatedly waited for decaffeinated tea that was never served. I asked the host/singer/attendant several times, and she told me the tea was brewing. After waiting quite a while without receiving it, I asked for water instead, but that was never brought to me either. What made this even more frustrating was that other guests were served a hot tea and pink lemonade while I continued waiting for either decaffeinated tea or water. I understand that special requests may take additional time, but I would have appreciated better communication and basic service. Another concern was accessibility. As we were boarding the bus, an elderly guest needed a ramp. The driver initially refused, stating, "Well, it will take me a couple of minutes." Rather than assisting promptly, other passengers stepped in to help the elderly guest board the bus. The process took over ten minutes and could have been handled much more appropriately. The tour narration was also difficult to hear. The volume was too low, and the speaker system frequently cut in and out, making it hard to follow the information being shared. The singer had a beautiful voice, but unfortunately the sound system issues affected her performance as well, causing interruptions throughout the tour. Overall, the experience did not meet the expectations associated with a premium-priced Luxe ticket. Better customer service, accessibility accommodations, beverage service, and sound equipment would greatly improve the experience for future guests.
Tour was on 5/17/26 Departure location was from the Swim Club in downtown Austin Texas on East 10th St. We were to board the bus at 1145a for a 12p departure/tour. At around 1150a, there is no bus, and the group of us begins to get text messages advising us that the bus is delayed an hour and that the departure time is now 1245p . At around 1250p, still no bus, and we are then texted that we “will be notified when the ETA will be”. NO way to speak to a live person. NONE of the “customer service” tel numbers connect to a person, despite the web site saying customer service available “daily” from 9a to 6p. Bus arrives at around 130p, and we board. No apologies or explanations are given for the delay or for the lack of communication. Once aboard, we are told that the bathroom on the bus is “unusable”, but by now, the bus had already started moving, so we are on the move and the “tour” is underway. We begin to eat lunch. We arrive at what is supposedly one of the sights that is supposed to be highlighted on the tour and don’t even pause, just drive right by it……NO mention is made of/about the sight. As the tour progresses, NO mention is made of/about ANY of the sights as there is NO narration of anything, so in actuality, NO “tour”. As it’s my baby sister who is my companion on the tour, it’s actually nice and winds up working out great as she and I just get to yap yap yap and enjoy each other and the eats. No refills offered of any of the foods. The sweet lady who is serving us is also the singer/show lady for the tour, making me think that the bus is short-staffed over all, and she basically ran the whole thing all by herself. I hope she got some kind of a bonus as she handled the WHOLE thing and did so with such grace and such a nice sense of humor. I let her know it was my baby sister’s birthday, and she announced it to the whole bus, and we all got to sing Happy Birthday to my sister which was lovely. This was the main present to my sister for her birthday, and I had kept this all a surprise. At 140 dollars per person (I ordered us the “Lux” Menu which was a good bit more expensive than the “Petite” Menu) before “taxes” and “fees”, I can easily say that based on this experience it was NOT worth the money. Have reached out via text and at least 2 more emails to TopView Tickets who owns/runs the Tea Around Town tours to let them know about my experience, and to request return communication to discuss it, and at least a partial refund. NO response to date, which is pretty unacceptable. I had planned to take my nieces (my baby sister’s girls), but based on our experience, I will not be doing this again or recommending it to anyone else. It’s abundantly clear that this parent company only cares about making as much money as possible and does not care about customer service, customer satisfaction, customers’ experience, doing the right thing, repeat business, or their own equipment or employees. What a shame…..
The experience was great and we loved the bus all decked out with flowers and pink, All of the ladies dressed up and we had a great time. We are tourists so it was great to get an overview of the city so we can go back to the things we want to see.
What a fun and tasty way to spent 90 minutes in Austin. Paul and Joshua were superb today, as our tour guide and driver. The food (we had the luxe version) is really delicious, with a good selection of hot and cold teas too. The ‘luxe’ version also comes with a mocktail. Everyone gets to keep their tea cups and, if you can’t finish the food, there’s a to go box.
The exterior of the bus is very pretty and that’s where I have anything positive to say. The interior was tackily decorated with artificial flowers that had seen better days and they were everywhere! They were tired and dirty. The food was a joke. Not one thing was good. The scones were so hard and stale that they were inedible. They were little round hard things about the diameter of a lemon and so bad. The tea was poured into our cups 3 times and only around 2” each time. Definitely not anything remarkable. All in all the trip was good for a laugh although a very expensive laugh. I paid almost $300 for 3 of us. I wouldn’t go again if it was free. I really can’t afford this kind of extravagant spending but I had visitors from out of state and I wanted to do something special for them. Boy was I embarrassed! Their trick is to gain attention with the pretty bus riding through Austin encouraging people to take the tour. This company should be ashamed to do such a shoddy job. I’ve already told several people about it and they have crossed it off their lists. One friend was going to have her daughter celebrate her 12th birthday on it with her friends. It was because her daughter saw the bus and wanted so badly to take the tour. Of course that turned into a BIG FAT NO! I still can’t believe how bad it was and I also can’t believe that I’m out $300.
This was an absolutely wonderful experience. I cannot say enough, how much we enjoyed it and we were doing.
Great tour to see at a glance the city in a different way. We ended up going back in one of the street to see closer by ourself. 3 teas tasting was good and interesting. My kids went more for the sweet than savory. My son 14y liked it too. My 6y old girl liked it obviously. The only thing is the pick up area could have use more instruction. You wait in the street, there is no one to welcome you, no sign and nobody picks up the phone but hopefully we were waiting at the right spot
Terrible. I wish I could give zero stars. Tour was delayed 3 times & wasted the whole day waiting for a bus that never came. Finally just requested a refund. Ruined our trip. The phone number where we called also said they didn’t know where the bus was nor could they give an ETA. And they didn’t care & promptly accepted a refund. Ridiculous. 14 ppl left waiting for nothing. Will never book again
