This is a experience that i have not seen offered anywhere else. This is more than a blessing so dont get confused, this is a water blessing to wash away the bad spirts from the head monk. the experience takes about 20 minutes in total but some things are worth every penny. 5 stars highly reccomend doing this.
This was such really nice experience from the monks. The chanting and general peaceful atmosphere was humbling. Lots of “gratuities” needed though. The blessing did leave us feeling peaceful and revitalised.
Our driver/guide sent a message to say he was waiting in the hotel foyer. When we went down there were many guides waiting for guests and we had to get assistance from concierge to try and locate ours. After speaking to every single guide, we finally located ours sat on a bench completely engrossed in his phone and not looking as if he was waiting for anyone. Not the best start! On the car journey to the activity he was trying to persuade us to take extra tours with him and we had to be extremely firm when refusing. After that he appeared to lose interest in us and didnt really talk anymore. He didnt explain what would happen at the activity so we were confused about the process. It felt rushed and chaotic and not enjoyable. He kept telling us to follow him and then would walk away really fast and so I had to shout to him to slow down because I had to help my friend (who is blind and has a white stick to indicate this) but he did not slow down much. He was the worst tour guide ever and completely spoilt the experience for us ... and all because we wouldnt hire him for additional tours around Siem Reap. It was a complete waste of money and I feel ripped off!
I am sorry for this happened as your review was different tour you did. It is not our tour you booked .
Wow what an experience a must do for everyone, guide was great and the temple was amazing. Book it up you will not be disappointed.
when we got there, we were the only group there and we had a good time with the monk blessing my friends with water. it was a very unique experience
A wonderful experience at a pagoda just outside of the main city. Our driver and guide was great and explained as he took us through the monk blessing. It was around an hour in total and was definitely a unique experience.
This was a very interesting experience! Our guide, Sophak was so wonderful and explained everything to us. He even went out of his way to help us out with another excursion we wanted to do!! Highly recommend!
Special experience , highly recommended ; if you get the chance definitely go book ... once in a life time
It was a lovely experience from start to finish. Everyone here is prompt and on time and we had an informative guide who explained everything very clearly. They provide the sarongs to wear and show you how so you do not need anything. There is a gorgeous temple right beside the monk’s home too for photos etc. it was definitely a one of a kind experience for all religious and non religious people and I would recommend everyone to experience it with an open mind. AC car, guide and driver - perfect for us. Just a short ride out of town as well and takes no more than 90 min. So leaves plenty of time for a full day of activities - :)
As Buddhists, it's very horner to be blessed with a monk. We don't have to dry cloths and or so. Just bring ourselves.
