Central Market & Hidden Tapas Bars Tour em Alicante

We did the Market Tour with Ali-Oli Tours during our week in Alicante, and it was the perfect introduction to an authentic Spanish market. These busy, local markets can seem a bit daunting to tourists, but Rebecca made us feel completely relaxed and at home. She took us to a wonderful variety of stalls where we tried lots of delicious things, and she was clearly on very friendly terms with all the stallholders. Even with my limited Spanish, her introduction gave me the confidence to make a few purchases on my own. We also loved the lovely nougat shop and the two distinct tapas bars we visited afterward—neither of which we would have discovered without her expert guidance. Rebecca was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing Alicante's culture. This tour was an absolute highlight of our holiday and is highly recommended!

We visited Alicante as a day trip during a visit with family friends in Spain. During our planning, we came across Ali-Oli tours and thought this would be a great way to get to know the city a little better. Was it ever! Our tour guide, Rebecca, gave us a wonderful tour of the market and some tapas bars. We tasted marvelous food, learned about the history of the region and got insights of the surrounding neighborhoods. She focused on local, family-owned businesses and gave us some suggestions for other local places we had interests in seeing. As a tour guide, she had a lot of patience and was very helpful. We had four kids in our travel group, ranging in age from energetic five-year-old to detached fifteen-year-old. She handled each one of them expertly and they all ended up enjoying it immensely. We would have done more of their tours if we were staying in Alicante longer and will definitely do more if we have a chance to return to the city.

This food tour was easily one of the highlights of our trip and something I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. We started at the Central Market, which was full of life and local character. Being able to walk through the different stalls, meet the vendors, and learn about their products made the experience feel authentic and personal. The tastings here were excellent and gave us a real introduction to the region’s ingredients and flavors. After the market, we visited several local bars for tapas, and each stop offered something unique and delicious. The variety was amazing—from traditional dishes to more creative options—and everything we tried was of very high quality. What really made the tour stand out was our guide. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the local food scene. Their relationships with the vendors and bar owners added a special touch, making us feel more like welcomed guests than tourists. Overall, this tour is a perfect way to explore the local food culture, try a wide range of dishes, and discover places you would likely never find on your own. Absolutely worth it!

Our group of three adults greatly enjoyed the "Market and Tapas Tour" in Alicante in late October. The tour included a visit to the market and then stopped at three other local tapas bars. Our guide was Rebecca. She was friendly and knowledgeable and made accommodations for my husband's mobility issues. She was well organized and even brought a little sack for our trash. We enjoyed every stop! You will get a sense of the local culture, not touristy pre-packaged views. The food and drinks were excellent and generous. We felt it was a great value for our tour dollars. In our planning/booking, Ali-Oli Tours was responsive to emails and there were no issues with the charges. All and all, I would highly recommend this tour, and especially Rebecca!

My wife and I are season travelers and have taken food tours all over the world. This food tour ranks right at the top. Rebecca, our guide, was incredibly informed and made the tour amazingly good with her local insights and how many of the local vendors she knew. The stop at the first tapas bar eased my concerns on how to order, how to pay and enjoy myself. This tour is not to be missed when you are in Alicante.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Rebecca was such a friendly and engaging guide. We got to experience some of the best parts of the market and enjoy some amazing tapas at 2 places we likely never would have stopped at. Such a wonderful experience!

Where do I start. From the very beginning Rebecca was very kind and knowledgeable. The tour starts on the stairs outside of the market. We talked with Rebecca before she had to go and retrieve the rest of our group. Once the tour started we knew we were in for a treat. We began our tour on the bottom level of the market, with a little history and right into samples. You can tell that she isn’t only a tour guide but a friend to the vendors that we stopped at. We started in the baked goods, moved to the olives and pickled goods, then on to the fruits. Everything was fresh and delicious. We then headed out to a local tapas bar and wow. We sampled several tapas, which my favorite being the “original” tortilla de patata. This stop included the before mentioned tapas and your choice of drink. Such an amazing local spot that we wouldn’t have known about without Rebecca. We then returned to the market for a tour upstairs. Starting at Jorge Ramos’s stall. Delicious doesn’t give it justice. In Hawaii we say “Broke da Mouth” when something tastes amazing. This definitely fit that mold. Once the upper floor tour was complete we headed to eSti to sample and learn about the traditional turron (nougat). We then headed to our second tapas bar and ended our tour with their award winning tapas and a drink of choice. Once again amazing. I highly recommend this tour. My wife and I had such an amazing time with Rebecca. Her love and pride for her city and the local food definitely shows. What an amazing time. Thanks again Rebecca and we will definitely be back. We have done quite a few food tours over our time and Rebecca with Ali-Oli is by far the best that we have had. Her knowledge of food, Alicante, and the friends that she has developed along the way made the tour that much more special. She is a great ambassador to Alicante - so good, in fact, that we have recently moved to Alicante!

Everything about Ali Oli & Rebecca on the day was excellent.Our relatives have lived on the Costa Blanca for 25 years and so are regular visitors to and love Alicante. This did make me a little nervous to book something they had never experienced before but I need not have worried. We chose the Market Tour which was so enjoyable mixed with tapas bars later on. Throughout the food & drink were excellent. What made it so special was Rebecca who knows her stuff andt is also so kind and charming. At each stop on the tour we felt like VIP's. A must do experience but only with Ali Oli.
