Absolutely unacceptable service. We purchased tickets for the ferry from Amalfi to Salerno scheduled to depart at 17:25. We arrived on time and waited at the designated boarding area, but the ferry never showed up. There was no clear communication, no explanation, and no assistance provided to passengers. We were left stranded and had to make alternative travel arrangements at our own expense. A transport company that sells tickets for a service it does not provide, while leaving customers without information or support, shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for its passengers. We are now forced to request a refund for a journey that never took place. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Be very cautious when booking with them. Terrible experience and extremely disappointing customer service.
Thanks to Francesco's kindness. Great moment.
Grassi Junior is the worst boat connection to and from Salerno on the Amalfi Coast. They are always on time. You never know if they're driving or not.
My boyfriend and I booked this ferry from Positano to Capri about 45 minutes before departure by scanning the QR code displayed at their own service desk. We carefully selected the 14:35 ferry, triple-checked the time before purchasing, and paid €58. When we got to the dock, we were told our ticket said 12:35 — a time that had already passed — and that we couldn’t board. We were completely shocked, because we are 1000% certain we selected 14:35. We believe the system glitched or sold out mid-purchase and auto-booked us for an earlier time without alerting us. It makes absolutely no sense that the system would even allow you to purchase a ticket for a ferry that’s already departed. We asked if we could simply be moved to the 14:35 ferry — which we had clearly intended to book — or even a later one. The staff refused and told us that all other ferries were “sold out.” They made zero effort to help, offered no solution, and worst of all, laughed at us at the service desk as if we were the problem. “Why would you buy a ticket for a past time?” they asked — as if that wasn’t exactly what we were trying to tell them didn’t happen. They clearly have no interest in resolving issues or treating people with basic respect. No refund, no apology, not even an ounce of customer service. Just a smug attitude and a complete unwillingness to take responsibility for what was very likely their system's error. This company is a complete scam — and we are not the only ones who’ve had this experience, based on other reviews. Avoid this ferry service at all costs unless you enjoy throwing your money away and being treated like an inconvenience. Use literally any other provider.
You bought tickets online and miss the ferry. According our cancellation policy we don't refund you. When you come at our ticket office we offered you to reschedule the trip but you told us: "no problem". And now you wrote a bad review. It is not correct, it was your fault.
I don’t typically leave “poor” reviews because every business deserves a chance to redeem themselves… but I had an absolutely terrible experience with this company that others need to be forewarned. It’s taken me almost two months to post this as I’ve been battling with my bank and this company for my refund. I booked the Capri tour from Positano from the recommendation of our B&B. As per the company, the 12 person boat was to travel for two hours visiting landmarks, four hours on the island, and an early sunset trip with remaining landmarks to arrive back at the port at 5:30 PM. As we departed the port in Positano, our captain spend a few minutes talking to us, which we assumed was pre-tour guidelines. As we continued, the captain would stop the boat to talk or sit and relax. After a few stops, four women, myself included, became very seasick and physically ill. One of the women who was on the boat with her two year old daughter asked the captain to stay the course and not stop so much. The captain immediately became upset and took offense to this. Over the course of the next two hours, what ensued was chaotic and unsettling. The captain would stop the boat for minutes on end to relax, yelled at the woman in front of her child and family, and proceeded to kick the family out of the tour and force them on the ferry the way back (lucky them). Because of captain’s antics, we arrived to Capri later than anticipated. We had very limited time on the island and spent most of it dreading the ride back. The ride back was even worse. The captain was being very arrogant after having kicked the women off the boat, and continued to stop and relax rather than continue the “tour.” Upon arrival back at the dock, myself and two other couples immediately complained to the staff working at the desk. The owner eventually came and stated that he would speak to the captain regarding this matter, though he refused to watch our videos of the whole ordeal, and took photos of our credit cards to refund us our trip. After two weeks, myself and the other two couples hadn’t received any refund from the company despite being in contact with the owner through WhatsApp. Eventually a refund did come - $100 if the total $270 we paid. After much back and forth with the owner, who lied to us in person and did not refund us in full, I was fully ready to post my videos from the boat as a warning to other potential customers. In these videos the captain can be seen and heard yelling at the women, sitting to lounge on the front of the boat, and can be heard saying things like “these stupid women think I don’t know my job.” I was threatened by this company to not post these videos. They don’t want you to see the truth. Instead, I will post the threats as they do not want to be exposed as the extremely poor professionals they are. They claim “safety first” in all of their responses, but how can you be safe with careless and deranged captains driving the boat?! BOTTOM LINE: Take the ferry and plan your own day trip to Capri. Do NOT book the tour with this company unless you want to feel like your time and money has been wasted!
We had the most wonderful time. Frencesco was our tour guide and he was fun and knowledgeable. He took us on a tour around the island of Capri showing us all the amazingly beautiful spots. We stopped for a swim in the incredibly clear blue waters, photos and a stop at the Blue Grotto!! We had the best time!! 10/10 recommend
Two of us took this all day boat trip, total of 12 passengers. We were in Italy for 9 days and this was the best excursion that we had. This was the all day, 8 hour trip, including a 4 hour stop in Capri. Our captain was Francesco, who was great. The water was beautiful, we stopped to swim at two locations. We saw the Amalfi coast up close, and took a lap around Capri. We had lunch in the town of Capri, found a nice place but the whole island was very crowded. We were all happy to get back on the boat. Would highly recommend this trip.
We had such a great time exploring the different grottos and visiting Capri. It was a long tough walk up to the main town of Capri, but well worth it. Our captain was amazing and truly a one-man show. Be careful if you swim in the grottos though as there are a lot of jelly fish around the Amalfi Coast. Three people got stung in our group. The stings are only about as painful as a little mosquito bite though. The captain gave us anti-itch ointment so everyone was gucci. Great excursion overall :)
Francesco was fantastic and took us around the Isle of Capri before letting us dock at the island in the lovely boat. He took photos of the groups and was a very good seaman steering the boat out in the ocean. Great experience.
Thanks
I was scheduled to go on this excursion on October 13, 2022. Due to stormy weather the operator cancelled the trip. Trip Advisor advised me of this promptly and told me I would receive a full refund of $583.16 within 3-5 days. No refund was received so I followed up. On December 22 TripAdvisor told me the full amount had been refunded to my credit card and the credit would appear in 3-7 days. I checked with my credit card company and they have seen nothing from TripAdvisor. This matter is now over 90 days old. How do I get my money back?
nd you. They have your money, not us. Sorry, ask viator for refund.
