The tour was frist class from A to Z. Great places, comfortable van, no rush to go round the visited sites. Mesut, the Happy Guide, was the best guide we could have hoped to have. He was patient, clear in his explanations, and above all, easy going and jovial.

It was a compact but fulfilling tour. Fish is recommended for lunch.

I booked the Red Tour through my hotel the day before. The guide arrived around 9:40 AM. The first two stops—Love Valley (about 20 minutes) and Uçhisar Castle (about 30 minutes)—were enjoyable. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, which made a good start to the day. Things changed when we were taken to a leather shop. There was a fashion show that didn’t add much value, and afterward we were kept inside the showroom for quite a long time while sales were ongoing. It felt uncomfortable, and the stop lasted over an hour. Lunch at a nearby restaurant was okay, but it seemed to cater mainly to tour groups. Nothing special, but acceptable. In the afternoon, we visited Devrent (Imagination Valley) for about 15 minutes and the Open Air Museum for around 30 minutes, both of which were interesting but felt a bit rushed. Then we stopped at a pottery shop for a demonstration. Similar to the leather stop, there was a strong sales focus. Staff were quite persistent, which made the experience less enjoyable. We ended up buying a small ceramic balloon for $55, but later saw similar items elsewhere for much less. The tour finished with a 30-minute visit to Pasabag, which was a highlight. Overall, Melendiz Travel handled the logistics well, and the guide did a good job. However, the long shopping stops and sales pressure affected the overall experience. With some adjustments—especially reducing time spent in shops and improving lunch—the tour could be much better. Based on this experience, I would suggest carefully choosing your tour provider and confirming the itinerary in advance. Booking directly with a well-reviewed company may give you more clarity on what to expect.
