I had a fantastic experience on this trek. Everything was wonderfully planned by Hari and it was a very stress free experience. I had a great guide who had summitted Everest on 5 occassions. Truly a once in a lifetime experience I will never forget.

The porters were equally amazing — always on time, reliable, and cheerful, playing a crucial role in making our experience smooth and enjoyable. My Everest Base Camp trek via Gokyo (April 9–25, 2025) with three friends, organized by Recreation Holidays, was phenomenal! From Kathmandu to Kathmandu, their flawless planning made this adventure unforgettable. Hari, our tour organizer, ensured every detail—permits, itinerary, and logistics—was perfectly managed, allowing us to focus on the journey. The Ramechhap-Lukla flight kicked off the trek, followed by well-chosen tea houses offering cozy stays and hearty meals. The Gokyo route, with its stunning lakes and Gokyo Ri sunrise view of Everest, was breathtaking. Our guide, Ongchhu Sherpa, was exceptional—his expertise, warmth, and stories made tough climbs like Cho La Pass (5,420m) truly special. Recreation Holidays delivered a safe, seamless experience. I had an incredible experience trekking Everest Base Camp combined with Gokyo Lakes and crossing the challenging Cho La Pass. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing ample time for acclimatization and exploration of iconic spots like Namche Bazaar, Tengboche. The trek was physically demanding, especially the technical Cho La Pass section at 5,420m, but the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and the stunning Gokyo Lakes made it all worthwhile. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and ensured our safety on the difficult terrain. The logistics, including the Lukla flights and accommodations, were smooth throughout. This trek offers a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and natural beauty for those prepared for a high-altitude challenge.

The Everest Base camp was an amazing experience. The entire trek from Lukla to EBC and back was an experience of a lifetime. The journey itself was the reward, while the views of the mountains around Pheriche, Lobuche, Gorakshep and the EBC, and the majestic peaks such as Thamsherku, AmaDhablam, Lohtse, Nuptse and Mount Everest were breathtaking. Hari from RecreationHolidays had helped us to plan the entire trip in a flawless manner. I figured out later, how friendly and reliable he is when we were stranded in Kathmandu. Aso I fondly remember that has been a perfect guide and a great friend during the entire trek. Hari knows the minutest details of the trekking path up to the EBC and all the lodges, cafes and the surrounding places. Fluent in English, he would give every details of the mountain peaks, their heights, and how and when they were first summited. This must be quite usual in that region. What is extra-ordinary was the way Hari looked after an inexperienced trekker like us and provided extra services that isn’t easy to get in those remote locations. He and the porters were very caring and went out of their way to make sure we were well cared for. Even now, being in touch with Hari occasionally brightens up my day and takes me back to the charming memories. I am eagerly waiting to go back to the Himalayas again, plan a trek through Recreational Holidays and do it with Hari as the guide.

I recently completed the Everest Base Camp trek with Recreation Holidays, alongside my friends Ankit Kachhara and Kiran. Our group of friends travelled from India to do Everest Base Camp trek. We had a lot of questions before going on the trek and we called Hari multiple times and he was kind enough to answer all our queries politely and in detail. Our flight from India to Kathmandu rescheduled twice and now we were reaching very early morning to Kathmandu, when we informed Hari about it, without hesitation he said he will come to receive us and he welcomed us early in the morning with the travel arrangement to hotel, one of our friend got some injury while travelling and he wanted to visit the doctor, Hari accompanied our friend to doctor also. We were lucky that Hari was our guide for the EBC trek also, right from picking us from Kathmandu Airport to EBC and till we reached back Kathmandu, he was with us and made sure that he fulfill all our requirements. One of our friend got sick while trekking and it was an emergency situation, he also arranged a chopper pickup for him. We have planned for gokyo visit also after EBC trek but because of bad weather we had to come back to Lukla, Hari also helped in rescheduling the flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Overall we were very satisfied with all the arrangements Hari did for us and I don't want to forget mentioning the Nepali traditional dinner evening which he planned for us after returning to Kathmandu, it is memorable. Setting off on the Everest Base Camp trek as a solo trekker was a very exciting and life changing adventure. I was very warmly welcomed by Hari at the Kathmandu airport with a silk scarf. He was friendly and readily took me to the car. We then went to his office where he briefed me the itinerary for EBC and offered a wonderful freshly ground coffee. He then accompanied me to the hotel which was nearby the office in Thamel. The next morning I got wake up call and Hari took me to the domestic airport where my adventure started with an adrenaline pumping plane ride into Lukla before snaking up and down various beautiful villages, suspension bridges and rhododendron forests for few days. The chilled breeze made me feel I'm already on the summit of Everest, but it was just a start. I met Prakash, my trekking guide in the Lukla Airport and we started our hike after taking a delicious meal. Every morning of my entire trekking came with mesmerizing views of the mountains and a great sense of contentment. The buzzing Namche Bazaar and the spiritual Tengboche Monastery of course were the key highlights to uplift your spiritual feelings. Everest Base Camp Trekking was an opportunity to truly connect with oneself and the world around us. There were some challenges included bearing with the high altitudes as well as illnesses associated with them such as mountain sickness but I managed to cope with it and enjoyed the rewarding experience. Prakash kept on checking me and assured me for my health. He was very amiable and cooperative. He was an expert of Himalayas. He explained the importance of prayer flags and mani walls. He introduced me to the local people there. He described the area very well and I feel now I can be a trekking guide too. Jokes apart, I was so glad and excited to see those Himalayas at such close distance and most mind-blowing experience was to enjoy and feel the gigantic Everest in front of you... The arrangements for accommodation and meals were done right on time. At the same time, meeting new Sherpa people with local traditional food items added warmth to it all. The experience to Everest was overwhelming and all the credit and thanks goes to Hari and his wonderful team of Recreation Holidays. He patiently answered all of our questions before and during the trip, and he was able to secure rarely-available plane tickets from Kathmandu airport to Lukla.
