The operator did not inform me that he would not arrive at the agreed meeting point and that the trip had been cancelled. I was waiting there fully prepared. Only after I contacted him myself, after half an hour of waiting, did I receive an apology message.
I had a car accidente the night before, I wrote to you as soon as I had my phone. I even tried to offer you a second option for the following day, but you did not accept it. I was hospitalized and had no way to text you. Sometimes empathy goes a long way If you need any proves, picture of something text me
I initially booked the hiking and river tour with Jonathan but then realized it might be too vigorous for my mother. He quickly offered a more relaxing (and gorgeous!!!) alternative to go to the Cueva del Eden. We had a beautiful day there and had the whole place to ourselves (it’s a popular spot, but we went early and on a weekday). The food was delicious, the grounds are well-kept and the pool was delightful. Highly recommend for a lovely place to decompress close to the Zona Colonial. Last sweet detail: Jonathan noticed my mother (who is Dominican) got very excited over the cahuil fruit trees on the grounds- he later gathered some for her and gave them to her to enjoy. Super attentive.
I had a great time on this escape into nature! The river was beautiful and very fun to swim in, and we were the only people there so it was truly peaceful. The hiking portion was very short but agility is required to walk over rocks and through rivers. Jonathan was super friendly and attentive and I felt very comfortable with him as a solo female traveler. The drive was a bit long but it was worth it to get out of the city into nature!
Something different to do since holy Sunday. The scenery is very nice, the river spectacular, you enjoy the bathing.
Tour guide was great. I booked this as a solo traveler and it was my only experience in DR. A lot of other tour guides were constantly cancelling for weather but Johnathan was very communicative and professional. The tour itself was like an hour long but expect more times for larger groups. Theres 5 rivers he takes you to and he gives you time to take pictures and swim in each one. This is not a beginners hike, wear sneakers, they will 100% get wet. Worth every penny!
Great river excursion! Everything was well organized, and the instructor was very attentive and professional throughout the entire experience. Felt safe and had a great time. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience overall, even though the original plan had to change due to a storm in the area. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to visit the La Jaiba River for safety reasons, but the guide handled the situation professionally and made sure the day was still enjoyable. As an alternative, he took me to Eden Cave, which turned out to be a beautiful and unique place to explore. I really appreciated the effort to adjust the itinerary rather than cancel the experience. The visit was relaxed, scenic, and still allowed me to enjoy the natural beauty of the region. Afterward, we went to eat at a local restaurant and enjoyed a delicious Dominican meal, which was a perfect way to end the day. The guide was friendly, attentive, and focused on making sure I still had a great experience despite the weather. Overall, I appreciated the flexibility and professionalism, and I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to explore the area and experience local culture.
Jonathan was an amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the trail and plants on the trail. He always made sure everyone was safe and even took pictures while in the water for you.
This was an amazing trip. The hike and river was absolutely beautiful and Jonathan showed us several great areas for swimming. This was a great trip away from the usual tourist locations to see nature deep in the heart of the Dominican Republic. Jonathan even went out of his way to help us find ripe fresh cacao fruit which I had ever tried before. Lunch was also hardy and perfect after the hike.
