Our tour with Lucy was exceptionally fun and informative. She explained a lot of the cultural aspects of some of the foods like using your hands instead of utensils and such. She explained some of the ways the foods were made that made them different from others and didn’t rush, it was such a relaxed pace. The biggest part was the food portions were plentiful but not over doing it either, we left feeling plenty full. A very good tour!
Great fun. Lovely host. Emma was knowledgeable and warm
The tour was amazing! Mesi was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour.
Our food tour with Lucy was nothing short of exceptional and easily one of the highlights of our time in Budapest. From the very first stop, it was obvious that this wasn’t simply a tasting tour, it was a thoughtfully curated journey through Hungarian culture, history, and tradition. Lucy is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and engaging. She shared the stories behind each dish, explained the cultural significance of the foods we sampled, and introduced us to flavors we may never have tried on our own. Every stop felt intentional, from savory classics to sweet treats, and each tasting offered a deeper appreciation for Hungarian cuisine. What made the experience truly memorable was Lucy herself. She has a wonderful ability to make everyone feel welcome, encourage conversation, and create an atmosphere that feels relaxed and personal. It felt like spending the afternoon exploring Budapest with a friend who happens to know all the best places to eat. If you want more than just great food and are looking for an authentic, immersive experience that leaves you with a genuine appreciation for Budapest and its culinary traditions, book a tour with Lucy. It’s an experience we’ll be talking about long after our trip, and one we would recommend without hesitation.

Our Guide Chrizstina was excellent sharing the authentic dishes and Hungarian history behind them. There were 11 on our tour so quite a few people to look after and include. She did an amazing job.

If you’re looking for the perfect way to experience Budapest, this is it. We had the pleasure of touring with Lucy, and she made the entire experience unforgettable. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and so much fun to spend a few hours of the day with. She didn’t just introduce us to Hungarian food, she shared the history, traditions, and culture behind every stop. We began at the iconic Central Market, where we sampled an incredible variety of pickled vegetables and other local specialties while learning about their importance in Hungarian cuisine. From there, we enjoyed some of Hungary’s most famous dishes, including crispy, freshly made lángos, rich and comforting goulash, and chimney cake. Every stop felt authentic, thoughtfully chosen, and delicious. Lucy answered every question, shared fascinating local insights, and made the tour feel like exploring Budapest with a friend who knows all the best hidden gems. Whether you’re visiting Budapest for the first time or returning for another trip, this food tour is an absolute must.
