The tour around city was great! Driver was fun and informative! Times are wrong on Website. Website said to meet at 2:00pm. Got a call from driver around 12:30. That was okay he was not rushing. However, if we had left at that time we could have made it back in time for the boat tour. Once we finished lunch we got in van, toured city, again it was great. Then we arrived back at harbor to get on boat, it was leaving. Again, we were supposed to get on the 4:00 boat, we got back early at 3:30 and it was leaving dock. Driver seemed shocked, we said it was okay, because there was literally nothing, we could do about it. It was paid for through the website, and the driver did not have the means to refund us. I feel like for $800.00, we should have gotten something as a refund. Not blaming the driver, but the company should know what they are selling before advertising.
😔 The timing confusion around the website, the meet time and missing the boat you paid for is absolutely something that needs to be looked into properly and we would love for you to reach out to us directly so we can investigate and make this right for you.
We were very fortunate to have a private tour. No one else joined us which is probably due to the time of year …we had a wonderful time. Got to see the best of Boston and ride in comfort, plus end our trip on a wonderful boat ride to see the city from the harbor!!
We were expecting a historical tour not pointing out various buildings. After a tour in Lexington where we were exposed to historical facts we expected the same
Our tour guide was an hour late picking us up. We then made 2 more stops to do pickups; were told we would go straight to the boat tour or we would miss our reserved time. The boat tour was great, that is why I gave this review 2 stars. Without the boat tour I would have given it zero. Our van driver was not what we have been accustomed to on these types of tours; he did not seem well versed on the sights we drove by. In fact he was not at all talkative or helpful. It was very disappointing, we felt most of the day was a waste of time. Again I want to point out that the boat tour was separate and was very nice.
Bob was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor, made our tour a very enjoyable Experience, would highly recommend if visiting Boston.
I confirmed with our tour operator the night before we were due to arrive in Boston. Our Tour guide NEVER showed up. We were at the meeting point for over an hour and a half. We called the 1866 8336855 number several times. We talked to Cynthia and Mathew on several occasions getting different excuses for why our tour guide “David” didn’t show up. Finally we decided to explore Boston by ourselves since it became obvious nobody would give us a straight answer as to why they didn’t show. At least we did get a full refund but it still ruined our day in Boston.
This tour is described as a two part tour. The first part is a driving tour narrated by a knowledgeable, professional guide. The second part is a boat cruise around the Boston Harbor narrated by a professional, knowledgeable guide. Our driver arrived 1 hour and a half late with no explanation other than "I'm just late." He was not professionally dressed nor was he professional in his demeanor. He was not knowledgeable about the landmarks. We were only able to do the boat tour. The boat tour was a very good tour. Highly recommend. We paid for two tours, but we only received one. I have contacted the company twice, but have not heard back how they are prepared to handle the driving portion of the tour.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re very sorry for the delay and unprofessional experience you encountered during the first part of your tour. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the Boston Harbor cruise and found it well-narrated and worthwhile. However, we recognize that the overall experience fell short due to the late arrival, lack of communication, and the guide’s conduct. If you haven’t already, please email directly with your booking details and copy of your review or reach out through your booking platform for a refund or to arrange reimbursement toward another tour. We'd love the chance to make it right with you and make it up to you on your next adventure, VIP style!
Booked the tour for 9:00 AM. No one showed up at the hotel they told us to be at. We couldn't drive to a pick up site. We were not staying at this hotel, we were staying 40 plus miles away. We called and was told that they didn't know why we weren't picked up. We then rescheduled for the same tour for 2:00 PM the same day. We now had to kill 5 hrs in a strange town. We called to verify our appointment at 12: 30 PM to make sure there wouldn't be any further issues. We did not get picked up at 2:00 PM. This time they called us to see if we had been picked up on time. After about 45 more minutes we finally did get picked up by a SUV and was told that we now had to pick up 2 other couples who were also promised to be picked up at 2:00 PM. The last couple had to be squeezed in and made for some unfriendly conversation. It was now after 3:00 PM when all was aboard and ready for the tour to begin. Due to the late hour, our tour through the city with stops at Bunker Hill and Harvard were canceled. We did make it to the Harbor Cruise but because we were late we missed alot of the welcome information. Our tour guide gave us a small sample of the buildings in the area and since we were close to the hotel where our car was garaged, just dropped us off. Not the experience we were usually given when doing business with TripAdvisor.
We’re truly sorry for the experience you had. Being left waiting not once but twice, and then starting the tour late only to miss key stops like Bunker Hill and Harvard, is unacceptable and not at all what we aim to provide. We know how frustrating it must have been to spend hours in an unfamiliar town and then have the day cut short. Just reach out through the contact details on your booking confirmation with your booking details and a copy of your review, you might be eligible for a partial or full refund. We’ll also be addressing this with our team to ensure better communication, smoother pickups, and that promised stops are never skipped again. Thank you for sharing your honest feedback.
Oh my gosh…. What fun we had with Bob! His knowledge of the area was unmatched, and he made our trip to Boston fun and memorable. We highly recommend this small group tour and would do it again in a heartbeat.
We had one day to tour Boston and selected what I felt was the best tour available. 6 of us were at the pickup point 20 mins early and after a half hour wait I called the dispatcher who told me he would call me back. No response after another half hour. I called again .Another 10 min and I was called back. They apologized and told me they didn’t have anyone to do the tour. They would refund the $1000 deposit. My suggestion for anyone else DONT USE THIS OPERATION FOR YOUR BOSTON TOUR.needs.
We’re very sorry to hear about this experience. Being left waiting without clear communication, especially when you only had one day in Boston, is unacceptable and we completely understand your frustration. A cancellation at the last minute after you had booked and prepared should never have happened. While we’re glad your deposit was refunded, that doesn’t make up for the lost time and stress. Thank you for your honest feedback — it’s clear we need to do much better in communication and reliability, and we’re truly sorry we let you down.
