Nikesh was amazing!!! We visited amazing, highly rated boulangeries while he shared a wealth of knowledge of the city’s history!! The walking pace was easy and was welcomed after sampling croissants, lemon tart, etc.
Very interesting way to see the city and enjoy bakery treats. Would have given higher ranking but had a hard time always understanding what our guide was saying. Did appreciate his efforts to make the tour include a large part of the city. Also, was very hot on the day. He bought us waters which was thoughtful, but maybe could have given us a couple more rest breaks in the shade.
Excellent, insightful tour of the history of Bordeaux, the integral part bread and bakeries play in the culture, with delicious tastings. The tour exceeded our expectations and was so much more than pastries!!we recommend this tour for brunch, walking tour and history!
Very informative guide! Very knowledgeable on the history of Bordeaux and the pastries of Bordeaux! Highly recommend this very good value three hour tour to anyone who’s passionate about pastries, and the history of Bordeaux!
Loved the tour. Our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable & gave us a great insight into Bordeaux. Includes a number of stops that most tourists would miss. The food (& coffee!) Was amazing. Would highly recommend.
This was a very fun and unique food tour of Bordeaux. Nikesh was extremely informative and chose with care unique and in some cases out of the way businesses for us to try. I enjoyed the history of each area as well.
We had a great morning on this tour. Joshua was very informative and the pastries were tres bien! The lemon tart was our favorite!
Food was great. Guide provided only bare minimum of information at each stop. Demonstrated very little interest and knowledge at the landmarks we visited. Spent more time messaging on his phone than actually leading the tour. Disappointed.
Hey Erin, Sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with us. On multiple occasions I made an effort to engage with you but you responded in a very short manner. After a while I simply stopped as I sometimes I have more introverted characters on the tour who prefer to observe rather than be interacted with and I assumed this was the case with you. For the phone part, that I am sincerely sorry. We had a mix up with the bookings that morning and I had to sort that out while on tour with your group. All the best Erin
Eight of us waited for over an hour (got there fifteen minutes early) and the tour guide never showed. Four of us booked through Trip Advisor and four booked directly through the company. Trip Advisor answered the phone, but they couldn’t get in touch with the company. It was very disappointing since it was our first morning in Bordeaux and we were looking forward to breakfast and learning some history. I got an email later in the day from the tour operator, stating that the tour guide wasn’t able to make it that morning and asking if my group would like to do it the following morning. Of course, we had other plans and couldn’t. I haven’t received a refund from Trip Advisor yet, but I feel as though the company should have at least offered the tour for free or something comparable. Very disappointing!
Hi Pamela, As communicated to you, the guide who was supposed to run your tour did not show up and we have taken the necessary actions against this individual. We are extremely sorry for this experience. This is a unique experience in our tour's history and will never be repeated again. A full refund was issued promptly which can take a few day to arrive in your account. We hope you were still able to enjoy your time in Bordeaux. Sincerely, Nikesh
This tour was incredible. I expected a great pastry tour, but there was so much more to it than that, it was a completely immersive dive into the history of Bordeaux. We visited different bakeries, and every single stop was out of this world. The tour is 3+ hours long, and even in the heat, our guide, Nikesh kept things so engaging and interesting that my attention span never wavered for a second. If you want to taste amazing treats while genuinely learning about the city’s past, do not skip this tour!
