A very nice excursion, ideal for slowing down and enjoying the nature, charm, and flair of Greece 🇬🇷☀️.
We had a amazing time here it was so lovely. And the Young girl anastasia was amazing with the entertainment getting us all to join in with everything taking part in all the activities she always had a smile on her face the job is definitely for her she is a natural ❤️ 😊 x
Very great experience. Fun and nice view
The island itself was a really nice experience to see all the old buildings and of course all of the cats. Unfortunately the boat crossing over was a huge let down. As we sat onboard at least 100+ school kids got on and the noise was overwhelming for all of us. The kids were being sick all over the place very unpleasant to be around. I know this is just an individual experience as that won’t happen every time but the boat should have closed off to general public that day. Thankfully another boat that was heading to the same location and we managed to get on that for the return journey at an extra cost.
This is a beautiful small island. We stopped in two small stunning traditional Greek villages which were beautiful to walk around. The volcano experience was great.
Was nice as a day trip from Kos. We had gone to the port of Kardamena on our own. And on Nisyros we rented a scooter on site. That is very easy there and is much more relaxed to explore the island one than sitting in a bus together.
Make sure not to throw away the cards you get on the boat, as you need them to get back on. Bus to the volcano and Nikia was 12€ which is really good.
Exiting to walk inside a vulcano and lots of info on the way. Nice little island for a one day visit. 9 year old kid found it a little boring though.
Booked in person at Kardamena dock for the Nisyros tour. Desperate for my family to see the volcano. Man at the dock was great "kid can go free, no problem" making me think I had got a bargain. I asked about the itinerary, and we bought tickets for the following day. 09:00am boarded, set sail at 09:30am... On arrival, massively disorganised. Some woman in broken English held a "English" board aloft. The crowd followed. She touted a restaurant (Vegos?) pointed the way to the monastery, before sitting down for some full strength cigarette action. Her directions simple - return at 1:20pm for the bus to the volacano. 1:20pm came. We queued. "Blue ticket please!" "What?" we said. Yes. We had not been sold a ticket for the transfer and either the sales guy was just rubbish or the whole ticket was lost in translation. Ended up bribing the bus driver with the last 20 euro I had to save the day, much to the annoyance of a coach of waiting people. I questioned the boat crew, who then miraculously couldn't speak any English at all, although were OK the previous day. Strange. BE WARNED: CONFIRM you have a bus transfer ticket too!!!
This was a real highlight because you can experience the extraordinary landscape at the volcano and even in the crater where the ground is hot. With Mandraki you can see a still very original place with only a few shops and many beautiful corners, alleys, and special places and restaurants and cafes. The tour itself is perfectly organized with its own guides for German and English speaking participants. Katarina, who led the German tour, told us a lot about the island, humorously guided us through the day, it was super interesting and she had many tips for us. Highly recommended. For me, only the pickup was very long, from Psalidi 1.5 hours - but included in the price and due to the geographical location not otherwise possible. I travelled in May. It should not be overcrowded even in midsummer, as the number of tourists is limited, there are a maximum of 3-4 excursion boats docked.
