Constanta, fundada como uma colônia há quase 2600 anos, é a cidade mais antiga atestada na Romênia, o maior porto do Mar Negro (o terceiro maior da Europa) e também a quarta maior cidade da Romênia, com seus 400.000 habitantes. Constanta foi fundada pelos gregos como um porto na costa do Mar Negro para o comércio com pessoas do interior e chamado Tomis (VIª c. AC). A cidade foi renomeada depois de Constantina, sobrinha de Constantino, o Grande (274-337). Ainda era uma cidade portuária florescente nos séculos 10 e 11, negociando com o Império Bizantino e a cidade de Gênova.

Alex was an outstanding guide. He was knowledgeable, humorous, and liked to talk. He took us to all of the great places in the city and the area. We had a very nice lunch near to seashore. Traffic into Bucharest was a bit heavy. i would highly recommend this tour.
This trip was the absolute highlight of my tourist adventures in Bucharest. The driver (Octavian) was fantastic & I learned so much about the area’s history and its present. It was a day very well spent with a guide who’s at the top of the list of many trip leaders I have experienced traveling over the years. I highly recommend this tour, for anyone seeking a day’s cultural, historical and scenic experience. You cannot go wrong.

Radu was an excellent host! He is well informed about Constanta’s history and culture! I am a history geek! So, I was intrigued by Radu’s historical knowledge of Constanta! The Black Sea view was so blissful to my eyes! I highly recommend this trip!
