Our guide Karim was exemplary. He deftly navigated lines and entry times on behalf of our group while simultaneously providing excellent commentary on the history of Monet's home and garden as well as the Palais of Versailles. No small feat on an extremely hot early July day with a group that included our family of four (jncluding two teenagers) and another American family of three which included two elementary-school age children. Karim was sensitive to everyone's differing levels of knowledge and energy and brought a welcome wry sense of French humor to the proceedings. Highly recommended.
Fantastic trip, a very long day but that is kind of the point so you can fit in both places in 1 day. I felt there was more than enough time seeing Giverny and Money's garden and house and also Versailles. We had a lunch stop in between. Out guide was lovely and helpful and very knowledgeable and accommodating. Gave us umbrellas for walking in the hot sun and answered all our questions. Tour stuck to time and all included stops and tickets were part of the tour. Nice air conditioned van ride both ways and convenient pick up and drop-off points. Highly recommend.
Wonderful guide Marceau who drove us from the meeting point in Paris in a comfortable, clean van to the venues. This trip includes transportation and entry tickets but you are on your own within the spaces. That’s fine at Giverny as it is all about the gardens and at Versailles you can get an audio tour if you’d like. Unfortunately the audio tour is not great. Marceau was really helpful pointing out lunch spots at Versailles, giving us a nice brief history lesson between the palace and garden tour. I The whole tour was well explained and efficient. Would be a 5 if we liked Versailles more.
Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the comfortable transport and found Marceau helpful and informative throughout the day. We appreciate your feedback about the audio guide at Versailles and will keep it in mind. We hope to welcome you again for another tour in the future! - Alice
It was perfect! The number of persons on the tour and transportation was comfortable. Our guide was a transplanted American and was easy to understand, yet very knowledgeable about the tour aspects as well as Parisian living. He made it fun and interesting. He was very thoughtful. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to make the most of the day visiting Paris to see Versailles and Monet historical sites. It was a trip of a lifetime!
Excellent tour. Very efficient yet flexible to individual needs. Our guide Marceau was well informed and very engaging. Highly recommend. Worth it even in the extreme heat!
Thank you for your kind review. We're delighted you enjoyed the tour and that Marceau made the experience engaging and informative. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again soon! Kind regards, - Alice
Very pleasant trip even though the weather is hot. Thanks for our lovely guide M😁
Had the nicest time on this small group tour. Perfect number of people to have a fun and intimate experience, the gardens were beautiful, and our guide Marceiulle (I am totally spelling his name wrong) was fantastic and very accommodating and full of great anecdotes!
Our guide Ryan was very knowledgeable and personable. Which provided our group a fun day trip from Paris. We traveled to Giverny about an hour from Paris in a very comfortable 8 passenger van. Toured the cemetery where Monet and his family were buried. This gave us a chance to ask questions and to learn about Monet's background and history. We then walked to the group tour entrance where we had about 90 minutes to explore Monet's home and gardens. The gardens were beautiful! From there we drove about an hour to Versailles. We were given an hour to grab lunch before moving inside. Where we had roughly 90 minutes inside the palace on our own before touring the fountains and gardens of Versailles with guide. We finished with a quick walk through the hamlet before returning to Paris about 6:30. In all, 15,000 steps, a lot of laughs and great day getting outside of Paris.
Had a great day exploring Giverny and Versailles. Our guide was Ryan and he was amazing. Shared great info before both Monet Home/Gardens and the Palace of Versailles. Spent time before the gardens and walked through the cemetery where Monet was buried and then strolled down the streets of Giverny to the home and gardens. Gardens were beautiful and the time we had to explore was the right amount of time for us. We went in shortly after opening and while their were many other visitors were still able to get great pics. Both this and Versailles were on our own which is to my preference so we could go at our own pace. Drove to the town of Versailles and had time for lunch on our own before entering the palace. Ryan again shared lots of great info while in line (the downpour was not so fun) and then he met us at the exit after the allotted time at the Palace. Versailles was very crowded and while I am glad we saw it, we enjoyed the palace gardens much more . Ryan met us at the exit and guided us through the gardens then drove us to the home Marie Antoinette lived in when she wanted to be away from the palace and we had time to explore her private hamlet she also had built. Total of 8 in our group and if I had one negative it was sitting in the third row seat which was not to great for anyone tall, but luckily the couple in the second row switched with us for part of the trip which was much appreciated. Learned lots of new info about the French Monarchy as well as the French Revolution. While the pick up and drop off location was a ways from our hotel, it was close to the Arch de Triumph so we were able to cross another site off our list. Thanks Ryan for the amazing day.
This one-day tour to Giverny and Versailles completely overwhelmed me in the best way possible. Monet’s gardens were breathtakingly beautiful, and Versailles was beyond impressive. The experience ignited a deep interest in French history that continues even after I returned home — I’ve been researching and reading more about it ever since.
