An old neighborhood church is a lovely place to spend a few pleasant hours accompanied by sweet melodies. You shouldn't have too high expectations; it's ideal for escaping the routine and engaging in a different activity.
Very intimate experience with excellent opera performers. They performed selections from famous opera’s. It’s inside a church and we were very close to the performers. For the price it’s well worth it and I urge you to see it. You will not be disappointed
What a truly great experience, a treat for my birthday…An opera concert in a little Italian church in Florence. Easy to book and straightforward transaction with tickets sent to my phone and instructions of where to meet. Everything was well organised, singer and pianist fantastic.
The Italian Opera experience was truly enjoyable and a wonderful introduction to this beautiful art form. The duet was highly professional and gave us a real taste of Italy, along with a great appreciation for the performers’ talent. We initially thought the performance would take place inside the Santa Monaca Church itself, but it was actually held in a smaller room adjacent to the church. While this was a bit unexpected, the more intimate setting worked well—overall, the acoustics were excellent and really enhanced the performance, as is often the case in smaller, enclosed venues. [tripadvisor.co.uk] Despite the slight surprise with the location, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found it to be a memorable and engaging evening.
A wonderful experience to enjoy bel canto
It was amazing to see the opera. It was a small close setting and was amazing. My children loved it! It made for a very Italian feeling experience!
This experience was wonderful. The only thing wrong was that they didn’t have the portable AC unit on so it was very hot inside the church. If that was working this would be a 5 star experience.
Phenomenal world class talent!! Male and female singers were extraordinary. The pianist was amazing. Even though there were only three musicians, it was fantastic. The church appears to be an old church, but it is extremely beautiful, even if it appears to be abandoned. I like that the show was not too long and there were about 12 songs that only lasted 3 to 4 minutes each. The show was of a perfect length to get entertainment without going on too long. I don’t think that you need to follow the dress code for most churches, there were several people wearing very short skirts and had their shoulders exposed, and the dress code was not the same as being in a church. They even sold wine at the venue if you want a few glasses. Highly recommended.
The performance was well worth the ticket price, and the singers and pianist did a great job. Find the venue by way of Santa Monaca Hostel, which is easier to find on maps and arrive early (15-30 mins) to make sure you find the place. The event cost of 30 Euro is probably a better deal than the 80 Euro event with dinner. There are many restaurants to choose from in the area. The concert room is small and intimate and gets very warm, quickly, so be prepared to sweat a bit. Bring at least one bottle of cold water per person for the 1-1/2 hour performance. On the whole, I'm really glad I did it.
What an opportunity to close an evening in Florence. The place is nice but a bit warm for the weather; the air conditioning could be improved. I would expand the selection of drinks offered to the attendees.
