Iniciamos o passeio no famoso Parque Seminário, também conhecido como Parque das Iguanas. Este pequeno mas emblemático parque abriga inúmeras iguanas que circulam livremente entre os visitantes. Aqui poderá observar de perto estes fascinantes répteis, alimentá-los e até tirar algumas fotografias com eles.
Prefeitura e Praça da Administração: Continuamos nosso passeio em direção à Praça da Administração, onde está localizado o prédio da Prefeitura de Guayaquil. Este local é um centro administrativo e um importante ponto histórico da cidade. A praça é adornada com estátuas e jardins, e é um ótimo lugar para conhecer a história local e admirar a arquitetura neoclássica do Palácio Municipal.
Catedral de Guaiaquil: A poucos passos do Parque Seminário fica a imponente Catedral de Guayaquil, oficialmente conhecida como Catedral Metropolitana de San Pedro. Esta igreja de estilo neogótico é um dos principais templos católicos da cidade. O seu interior, adornado com vitrais e detalhes arquitectónicos impressionantes, oferece um espaço de tranquilidade e devoção.
Torre Mourisca: Caminhando um pouco mais, chegamos à Torre dos Mouros, também conhecida como Relógio Público. Esta torre, com seu distinto estilo mudéjar, é um dos ícones mais reconhecidos de Guayaquil.
Malecón 2000: Em seguida, iremos ao Malecón 2000, uma extensa área recreativa e turística que se estende ao longo do rio Guayas. Aqui encontrará uma combinação de espaços verdes, monumentos históricos e zonas de entretenimento. É um local ideal para um passeio relaxante, com vistas deslumbrantes sobre o rio e a cidade. Visitaremos o Hemiciclo da Rotonda, onde estão as estátuas de Simón Bolívar e José de San Martín.
Centro Histórico de Las Peñas: Terminamos o passeio no bairro Las Peñas, o setor mais antigo de Guayaquil. Este bairro pitoresco, com suas ruas de paralelepípedos e casas coloridas em estilo colonial, é uma joia histórica e cultural. Subir os degraus da rua Numa Pompilio Llona até o Cerro Santa Ana lhe permitirá desfrutar de vistas espetaculares da cidade e do rio. Julio is a knowledgeable guide, who is great with kids. He filled our day with so much fun and activity. We visited many historical sites and rode the cable car which had spectacular views of the city. Our kids especially loved feeding the pigeons at Iguana Park, and enjoying some of the best chocolate ice cream they ever had. Julio taught us so much about the history of Guayaquil, even the plants, and animals. Andrew was also a reliable, safe driver. They were a great team, and I highly recommend the tour of this beautiful city.
Francisco was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide to Guayaquil. He is very personable and speaks excellent English (ich glaube er spricht auch Deutsch). He knows a great deal about plants and animals as well as about buildings and local history. We had some interesting conversations about Ecuador and Guayaquil. His car is very clean and well air-conditioned, though we also spent time out of the car while walking. The 3-hour tour was not hurried. I highly recommend Francisco when you are in Guayaquil.
We had a great city tour with Tour Guide Julio Rosas and Driver Andre. The itinerary was quite unique and very good for us to get a quick overview of the city’s landscape, history and the people. Julio seemed to know everyone, greeting and talking with locals. We felt very safe and comfortable with him in the city. The cable car ride through the city and into Duran was very beautiful too.

My wife and I just finished the Highlights tour with Francisco as guide and Andre as driver. 100% satisfied! We’ve had hundreds of guides over our lives all over the world. Francisco customized to our interests, adjusted to our pace, and provided as much as we wanted from his deep local knowledge of history, culture, nature, politics, food and people. What a wonderful way to see the city. Julio Rosas was my guide for the day and he couldn’t have done any more to make the day memorable. Truly passionate, friendly and knowledgeable. Saw so much in such a short time. Definitely a recommendation if you’re here for a day or two before heading to the Galapagos.
