I never book solo tours as they aren't cheap, but as I only had a few hours in Belfast I thought it could be a good way to see what I might otherwise miss. I waited at the meeting point, and waited and waited. As no one turned up I rang the guide's number from the confirmation email but it went straight to voicemail. I gave it a while and called the companies number and explained the situation. They questioned if I had actually turned up at the agreed time, and I had to go through things again. I was put on hold for a few minutes before they returned saying their calls went straight to voicemail also. I asked for a refund but they tried to persuade me to book another tour. I explained I would be leaving Belfast in a few hours so would need a refund. They tried to persuade me to take a tour somewhere else and I again requested for a refund. We shall see if I actually get one.
This tour is a great option if you are looking to learn about the city from a cultural aspect and get personalized recommendation on what to do, where to go and etc. However the only thing that we felt was lacking was knowledge about the city's history which was a shame as we were very interested to learn more about Belfast's history. To be fair though, our local guide, Johnathan was a very kind, accommodating, and generally flexible as we decided what we needed to do throughout the day
Judith was wonderful. It was like exploring Belfast with a family member. She was knowledgeable, fun, smart and understanding. We had a great time.
