Very nice tour. Tikal is wonderful. Our tour guide is awesome. The jungle in this park is really impressive. We encounter several wild lives.
Get ready to walk and climb. It is humid so dress accordingly. Beautiful scenery and different animals to see. We sawToukans, birds and Central American Raccoons.
There was no description on what was required to be brought with you. Or what you were required to wear. This was a tour that requires you to wear appropriate shoes, as well as you need to bring your passport in order to get into the park. We didn’t have our passports, but luckily, I scanned color pictures of our passports and had them on our phone, which thankfully the lady accepted. You should know that you will hike in total probably anywhere from 4 to 5 miles, you will be on all types of rough terrain. But most importantly, climbing the ruins themselves via the staircases can be very tiring. However, we absolutely enjoyed the tour overall, we did enjoy the hiking aspect of it, and we did enjoy the hundreds and hundreds of stairs that we climbed. However, if you have someone who cannot walk very well, who has foot ankle or leg problems, or are just older in general. This would not be the trip for you. Our tour guide was OK. This was supposed to be an English speaking tour, and our guy is really good when it comes to speaking in Spanish. Luckily, we understand a bit of Spanish, but his English struggled. Which is OK he ended up telling us later on that he uses this to practice his English. But if you’re gonna call this an English tour, then the person should be able to speak it well enough. However, if you’re gonna go into a foreign country that does not speak English as his primary language, the. I think it’s incumbent on you to LEARN as much of the language as you can, and to make sure that you are able to understand and speak that countries language to an extent to get you around and to understand things. I would never criticize a person for not being able to speak English. But overall he was okay. Unfortunately, we were the only ones to give him a tip, because he did the best he could, and he gave information and answered every question that my wife asked. But overall, a better description and expectations would be appreciated.
Lloyd was well-informed and did a great job making the experience both interesting and fun. We learned about the history of the Mayans and got to see unique birds and monkeys along the way. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Guatemala
It was pretty good, just that sometimes the guide went too fast on complicated paths and adapting to the pace was a bit difficult, other than that everything was fine.
This tour was great! Amazing experience for the money! We brought our two girls (6,and 5) and while it was very hot and long for them, they held their own and climbed every temple! Our guide Victor was awesome! Very knowledgeable and informative! He made sure we kept on track and owed us plenty of time to explore!
I’m so glad we did this amazing tour! Edwin was an incredible guide and cared so much about the history and culture of the area. We were picked up at the I heart Peten sign at 8am (I recommend going to the breakfast place right next to it beforehand for the most incredible breakfast quesadillas and coffee). Edwin was incredibly friendly and kind and spoke to us in both Spanish and English. The van ride was about an hour through beautiful rural towns. We stopped for coffee and tickets (150Q) before entering the park. The park is huge, 50 square kilometers with over 60,000 structures, but Edwin knew the best spots to go and efficiently scheduled the tour to show us the most incredible views paired with explaining all the history and importance of the area (explained in both Spanish and English). We also saw beautiful wildlife like moneys and baby Quiotes. The jungle and ruins were beautiful and we hiked until about 3pm at which point we went to a delicious and quaint restaurant at the entrance of the park. We were then transported back to Flores where we said our goodbyes. I cannot recommend Edwin or this tour enough!!
everything was great except for 2 things. 1. The forces stop in a restaurant- you are not obliged to ear, but we could be earlier back at flores and pick where WE want to eat and 2 They mix Spanish and English speakers in the same group so everything takes way longer... a waste od people's time
Our guide was amazing, very well paced so you have plenty of time to see everything, I would bring plenty of bugs spray.
The cost-benefit relationship was perfect. Super with the timing.
