Conheça o guia às 10h30 e visite a Basílica dedicada a Santa Clara. A Basílica de Santa Chiara, em italiano, é uma igreja dedicada e contém os restos de Santa Clara de Assis, seguidora de São Francisco de Assis e fundadora da Ordem das Pobres Senhoras, hoje conhecida como Ordem de Santa Clara.
Chiesa Nuova. A Chiesa Nuova é uma igreja em Assis, Itália, construída em 1615 no local de nascimento provável de São Francisco, a casa de Pietro di Bernardone. Foi então chamada Chiesa Nuova porque era a última igreja a ser construída em Assis naquela época.
O templo de Minerva é um antigo edifício romano em Assis, Úmbria, no centro da Itália. Atualmente, abriga uma igreja, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, construída em 1539 e renovada em estilo barroco no século XVII.
Reconhecida como Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO, a basílica de São Francisco foi construída sob a direção do irmão Elias, vigário geral e arquiteto da ordem, a partir de 1228, apenas dois anos após a morte do santo, como um local destinado a receber sua permanece.
Se a solene e escura basílica inferior convida à penitência e ao silêncio, a igreja superior se eleva no céu, arejada e brilhante. Em estilo gótico, com influências francesas, a nave possui quatro baías, abóbada cruzada e transepto e abside poligonal.

Barbara was extraordinarily knowledgeable. She educated us well on Assisi’s history, the life of St. Francis, and the fine details of the artwork in the basilica and the criticality of Giotto’s innovations to future artistic developments in the Renaissance. It starts from the top of town at the church of St Clare. Very interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared his personal insights. We took the quiet road behind the town to the Basilica and it was a delight.

Personalized tour of this beautiful city. Even though we were there during a holiday and tour guides were not allowed into the churches, our guide went through detailed instructions of what to look for and how to go through each church.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the church, the region and St. Francis. She spoke good English and was quite understandable even when speaking quietly inside the churches.. The pace was easy and covered a lot of ground.

Tour is a private tour which takes you through the history of Assisi, the Poor Claires, St. Francis and the Basilica of St. Francis. Guide was knowledgeable and quite opinionated, but treated the physical sites with dignity and respect. Tour does not include the resting place Carlo Acutis.
