As someone who was born and raised in Bengaluru and now lives overseas, I was delighted to join the Malleshwaram Heritage Walk during my visit to Bengaluru in December 2025. The experience was a wonderful way to reconnect with the city’s rich history, culture, and timeless charm. The walk was thoughtfully curated, engaging, and filled with fascinating stories and insights that even long-time Bengalureans may not know. It offered a unique perspective on one of Bengaluru’s most iconic neighbourhoods and highlighted the heritage that makes our city so special. I would highly recommend these heritage walks to anyone interested in history, culture, architecture, or simply exploring Bengaluru beyond the usual landmarks. Whether you are a local or a visitor, it is a memorable experience that helps you appreciate Namma Bengaluru in a whole new way. Kudos to Raksha for her passion, dedication, and excellent organisation. Wishing her continued success, and I look forward to joining more walks on my future visits to Bengaluru.
This was my first Heritage Walk and must say, it was awesome! Raksha really does her research and puts in all the effort before herself out there to bring in the Cultural Heritage to the forefront! Lovely experience, would like to do more such walks with Bengaluru Prayana
I’ve known Raksha since my days in Australia, where I had the opportunity to explore some of Sydney’s amazing trails with her and a wonderful group of friends. Last year, while visiting Bengaluru for a family function, I decided to join the Malleshwaram Heritage Trail organised by Bengaluru Prayana. Even though I grew up in Bengaluru and was familiar with Malleshwaram, I was amazed by how much history I didn’t know. The trail was an eye-opening experience, bringing to life the origins of the area’s name and highlighting fascinating stories about prominent personalities, landmarks, and institutions along the way. The experience was thoughtfully curated from start to finish—beginning with a delicious South Indian breakfast at Veena Stores and ending with refreshing fruit juice at Eat Raja. Raksha’s passion, knowledge, and storytelling made the walk both engaging and memorable. I highly recommend joining one of Bengaluru Prayana’s heritage trails if you’d like to discover the city from a fresh perspective and uncover stories hidden in plain sight.
Just the most authentic guide and really enjoyed it. Information was verified. And there was kindness and grace. Will definitely use them again.
I’m so happy I booked this tour. Raksha taught me so much about Malleshwaram can I have fun, engaging an interactive way. We experienced temples, not locals, and got to know each other on our walk through the neighborhood. She also treated me to idli in the morning which I had never had and I loved it. She encouraged me to take photos and helped to arrange getting permission from specific people. We all saw a monkey - my first! Please book this wonderful tour!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m really glad you enjoyed the walk and found the stories and design of the neighbourhood meaningful.
Wonderful experience. Everyone in Bengaluru should try this. Great way to spend time on a weekend. You get to know about the culture as well as why certain streets are designed the way it is. The guide Raksha is really amazing and sweet. She knew the history really well and was very patient in handling the crowd. I highly recommend Bengaluru prayana for all the people for their heritage walk experience.
