Tour is exactly what it states. Would definitely recommend because the site is beautiful. Recommend and would go again.

The place has historical value but the tour they offer is not good. There are too many people for a single guide. The guide does not have a microphone. The tourists cannot hear well what he says. On the other hand, the guide goes very fast without caring that not everyone is in the place when he explains. I do not recommend it. I was very bored.

I didn't like it, the guide serves a very large group and doesn't even have a microphone. The visit ends in a different place from where it starts and they don't inform how to return. The value is cultural and historical, but the service leaves a lot to be desired

I thought this was good. Make sure you plan extra time on the island without the guide. There is a ton more to see. You can take a boat before your tour and stay after. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 was because the walking tour was only about 1 hr 15 when 2 hours is stated. I thought the guide (Oliver) was great. Made the discussion interesting and welcomed any and all questions. I do think you can just take the ferry and do the audio guide though. Also, I must say some of the comments about it being hard to find the boat or guide makes no sense to me. There is a booth right at the market and HUGE flags that say FRS. That’s how you find the boat. The guide meets you right at the visitor center.

The departure location is next to the public ferry. The map in Viator was misleading and caused us to miss the ferry . Which I then paid more to then take the public ferry

Suomenlinna was fantastic, this tour operator is awful. Other reviewers have mentioned the lack of communication about meeting site. I can confirm the instructions were terrible and confusing. The worst thing for us was the fact that we didn’t actually have valid ferry tickets. Nobody checked our tickets on the ferry ride to Suomenlinna but on the way home we learned the hard way that we should have gotten on a different ferry. The tour instructions say “after your tour, stay as long as you want and take the ferry back” but apparently there’s a specific return ferry we knew nothing about. We were asked for our tickets, showed them the Viator tickets and almost got fined €300 for not having valid tickets. DO NOT do business with this company. You’re better off buying your own ferry ticket (€3) at the kiosk in Helsinki Market Square, then just go to the visitor center on Suomenlinna and ask about guided tours (€10). Our tour guide, who worked for the Suomenlinna museum, was excellent. I recommend visiting this place but not with this operator.

It is not clear that the ferry is not paid for because the excursion includes it. We had to deduce it upon reading that we would meet the guide at the island's museum. The start time was the ferry's departure time... if we missed it, we missed the tour.

The directions for boarding the ferry were very vague. Didn’t show the ticket anywhere. The walking tour group was way to large but the guide was excellent,

The instructions for this trip are confusing. The description states meeting at two different places, the Helsinki dock or on the island. The tour is given by the Suomenlinna Visitors Center. You meet in the visitors center. I would never have known where to meet had I not asked one of the employees in the visitor's center. This tour has no meeting place at the dock in Helsinki. Yes Trip Advisor bought my ticket so I had a reservation, but the tour is not organized or operated by Trip Advisor. The tour is very informative and worthwhile.

This was a very enjoyable day. The 10am ferry arrived on the island on time at 10.25am and I walked to the museum and took the 10.30am tour in English. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained the fortress history. After the tour I spent another 2 hours walking around the island visiting the parts that interested me. I then returned to the wharf and took the ferry back to Helsinki. Highly recommended.
