Great experience, very informative and lovely wines . Very knowledgeable of local wines. Would definitely recommend 👍🏻
The wines are not premium. Not by a long shot. When I see premium, that means the wines are worth more than $5 to $10 USD. Was poor
Dear Dino, thank you for your review. It helps us grow and improve our service. We work with authentic wines produced by traditional wineries in the different wine-producing regions of Argentina. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your experience. Best regards!
This was a great experience! I went with my husband as we wanted to learn more about the wine culture in Argentina but didn't have time enough to go to places such as Mendoza or the north area. The guide Tomas had a lot of knowledge and was very attentive to our questions. It was also great that the tasting had place in Palermo very close to other places to eat, have a drink and have fun. Its a lovely neighborhood. Thank you tours buenos aires!!!! We definetly recommend this experience
From Tours Buenos Aires Team, Thank you for placing your trust in our company for the organization of your tours. And also thank you for your review, which encourages us to continue working hard and offering our best.
Where to start? The tour was advertised as being in a bar with pictures of a cozy, attractive candle lit venue. The location was actually in a drab, barely decorated apartment that featured a heavy smell of cooking grease that clung to our clothes & hair and that was usually used as an Airbnb. It was advertised that we would sample 5 wines, we were served 3 wines which our hostess told us cost @ US$ 8 a piece, one of which was undrinkable. It was advertised that we would be served an assortment of tapas. We shared a 6” dia plate of bland cheese, green olives and peanuts with another couple. Our “somenolier” knew very little about wine, started us on the heartiest wine first and move to the white, undrinkable wine; stated that the grapes are harvested in the spring and could not name any other varietals than the ones we were tasting. My guess is she read a Wikipedia article minutes before we arrived. However the hostess was pleasant, shared information about the way wine was shared by locals. This was a complete rip-off. It cost the company about US$ 24 for the wine and maybe a couple of dollars for the “tapas” for a group of 4 who paid US $ 110/ couple. This was my first and last Viatour tour. The ads cannot be trusted, you have idea what you are actually signing up for. I am an experienced traveler and would normally arrange something like this on my own but thought I’d give Viatour a try, my mistake.
Hola Barbara, thank you for your review. We are sorry that you did not like it. The place where the experience takes place is an appartment in one of the best areas of Palermo. It is almost a private experience, you did it with other couple. The wines are the best in Argentina. We are sorry that you did not enjoy the experience. Thank you, Alfredo
Great venue and very informative hostess. Rated 2 white and 3 red wines. Cheese and nuts rather than tapas
Oh wow! What an amazing way to finish a wonderful day in the magical city of Buenos Aires?!! The restaurant’s entrance looks very inconspicuous so pay attention or you’ll miss it and get lost for a tad, as we did. But once you find it, you’ll go down into a cellar full of delicious wine. There a sommelier introduced us to four kinds of wine, one of which was Malbec, so contrary to what the title of the trip is advertised to be- it is not just Malbec experience. We had another fun couple from GB join us! The sommelier was very knowledgeable, and was able to describe to us the regions where the grapes came from and so forth. She challenged us with pairing the wines with food and describing the notes of the wines. The last two bottles were blind test where we had to tell which wine we were drinking. You end the night with a tasting of amazing empanadas! All in all, highly recommend this tour to everyone who is an entry level wine connoisseur and is looking for some wine fun.
Very interesting tour, I am a wine lover and it is my first time that I have the opportunity to taste an Argentinian wine. Try 5 excellent wines accompanied by tasty tapas (in Argentina they say "picada") incredible. Our tour guide Axel with incredible knowledge, told us everything we should know to be an expert in Argentine wines.
Dear jannetM187, Thanks a lot for your review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed tasting the flavours of some of the premium and top-notch quality wines that Argentina has to offer accompanied by our famous “picada”. Hope to see you again in Buenos Aires, thank you once more for your feedback! Axel
