A experiência começa com uma visita a um mercado local, onde você aprenderá a selecionar vegetais frescos e ingredientes essenciais para a culinária do Sri Lanka. De volta à vila, você será guiado pela preparação e cozimento de pratos autênticos, dando a você experiência prática na elaboração de uma refeição perfeita do Sri Lanka. Você é bem-vindo para participar como indivíduo, casal ou grupo. Isso oferece uma oportunidade maravilhosa. Nossa aula de culinária tradicional é baseada em Kandy, e acomodamos grupos de todos os tamanhos, de indivíduos a grupos de até 15 pessoas. No final, você terá a chance de preparar uma refeição tradicional completa. Finalmente, você desfrutará de saborear a comida deliciosa. The host was very friendly and happy to answer any question. Very well knowledgeable and makes you feel at home. The tour started at the market which was an eye opening experience.. to learn different types of veggies and produces. It was an amazing experience and we left with a good understanding of Srilankan cuisine. This class is a must if you are traveling to Kandy !!! It is truly worth every minute we spent and we left with full tummies too 😋 😀😃
Today we had the cooking workshop. We were warmly welcomed. The cook explained already during our walk to their home about the fruits and nuts to see next to the road. We joined a workshop with a few other small groups. All fresh ingrediënts, lots of explanation on spices, and instruction. We prepared a variety of curry’s both vegetarian and with chicken. All was delicious. We would highly recommend this experience which you should not miss when visiting Sri Lanka.
An absolutely beautiful experience of Sri Lankan culture and Cuisines. The trip, marketing for the ingredients and cooking was well explained. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Kandy.

Today we gathered at the local market at 9 am. Because I am quite a difficult eater, I found it a bit exciting beforehand. But what a positive surprise we are, together with our two teenagers! We started at the market, where we bought fresh products and got an explanation about the ingredients. Then we went to the location to cook and have lunch together. What lovely people, with so much attention and enthusiasm! The explanation was clear and the lunch was delicious. Even for me as a difficult eater there was plenty of goodies. 😊 A cozy and authentic experience with our family. Highly recommended!
A fantastic experience. We started in Kandy’s central market and Shyama took us round explaining all the different varieties of vegetables on offer at the market. Shyama encouraged us to choose our favourite vegetables which dictated which curries we made. The cooking class itself was amazing. We were welcomed to the purpose built, authentic kitchen with some lovely tea. Under Shyama’s guidance we made six curries, yellow rice, coconut rotti and some salad. We finished with some incredible coconut pancakes! Each dish was extremely good and we will be making these again at home. Shyama was a brilliant teacher and provided an amazing overall experience, would certainly recommend! Anyone spending time in Kandy should do this class!
The class began at the market - an assault on the senses but a great look at a true local shopping experience. The venue, in a village a few km away, was excellent and our guide was informative, friendly, and able to answer our many questions. With her help we , along with another family, made a fabulous Sri Lankan meal of several dishes which we thoroughly enjoyed. A brilliant evening!
A great experience. Highly recommended! Shopping at the market in Kandy was very impressive. You get to know the local food and ingredients. Everyone has to/gets to prepare at least one dish themselves. You get to choose the ingredients and say what you like or don't like. Very informal.
Super cooking class a highlight, absolutely recommended
We loved doing this cooking class and enjoyed the market tour. My kids said it was one of the best things they did so far in Sri Lanka. They were really good at explaining everything and the food was delicious.
