The best time learning about Vietnamese culture, spices, and food! Mango was a great host and gave excellent assistance along the way to get everyone involved! Accommodating to vegetarians too!
Our visit started with the tour of the vegetable and herb garden. Here we learned all about the spices we would be using during the cooking classes as well as fruits and vegetables that are grown on the family compound. The cooking class was very well presented by a great instructor who spoke excellent English with an excellent command of English cooking terminology. We made spring rolls by hand and fried them in oil and enjoyed it at the table, along with beef rolls and assorted herbs, spices, and fruit for dessert. The class takes place in a lovely garden, which is a joy to visit as it’s in a very quiet oasis like setting. No doubt, you will enjoy this experience.
We had a wonderful afternoon at this cooking school. We started with a tour of the garden and a sampling of all the herbs that were growing. We sampled and assortment very aromatic herbs, some of which were described as having medicinal properties. Next, we moved on to the outdoor kitchen where we had excellent instruction on how to make various dishes and sauces. We made spring rolls with all the vegetables and rice paper. Our instructor spoke very good English and gave step-by-step instructions. We had our own stations to chopped vegetables and to make up the spring rolls. We then cook them in a large wok in hot sunflower oil. We then sat down to eat the spring rolls along with the sauce that we made and a very tasty salad. The kitchen prepared some beef rolls for us which we rolled in two vegetable stuffed rice paper. The school is located in A oasis like setting of peaceful gardens owned by a single-family who run the school This was an excellent experience which I can wholeheartedly recommend.
An amazing food tour experience. Our tour guide John shared his experiences and knowledge about herbs and food. A great tour
We just did a street food tour through this company with Rocky. It was absolutely outstanding. The dishes we got to taste were all unique and 10/10 for taste. We wouldn't have ventured to explore them without Rocky's excellent local knowledge. Rocky was personable, knowledgeable and great with the kids. We would definitely recommend!
Attentive and educational in every way!
Great experience all around! Fun cyclo ride, great market tour with our knowledgeable guide and then fantastic setting for the class in a beautiful courtyard surrounded by gardens. My boys (ages 13 and 10) were engaged the whole time (not easy!), and the food we made was the best Vietnamese we’ve had so far on our trip (including better than a Michelin Bib Gourmand spot we ate at). Highly recommend the experience!
We started off with a fun tuk tuk ride to join Mango, our chef, in a tour through the wet and dry markets. She then led us to her cooking school which was tucked away in a beautiful piece of oasis in the middle of Hanoi surrounded by beautiful gardens. Mango was very informative and she demonstrated then we followed. We prepared 4 Vietnamese dishes and they were very delicious. Highly highly recommend this cooking school.
This was an excellent introduction to Vietnamese cooking with a chance to meet some local farmers and learn about the herbs used to flavour the meals.
Fantastic experience! Chef Mango was so fun to work with. Highly recommend!
