Amazing experience. Super interesting and impressive, very kid friendly. Our 3 year old loved it! Great staff!
♡ I cry with how beautiful is everything! ♡
What a great museum! Asset to AMS. A must-see! A feast for the eyes. And also for the ear, the audio tour completes the visit. The accommodation and garden are, in addition, also unique.
This is one of the best museums I’ve been to. Took my family here while we visiting Amsterdam and I can’t praise it enough. My young child loved it and so did we. Great service, beautiful café downstairs, the movie was great and the vibe was 10/10. Marvellous
beautiful small-scale (and quiet) museum in 2 unique canal houses with beautiful garden; the collection is extraordinarily separate and beautiful. Very friendly staff and great coffee and cakes.
The Art Zoo Museum is fantastic. What an ode to the animal kingdom! Here animals are exhibited in an incredibly artistic way. You can look at every detail in peace.
I very rarely leave a review but following my visit to Art Zoo today, I feel compelled to. It was just the most fantastic experience - the absolute highlight of my trip! The artists have an incredible eye and passion for beautiful taxidermy. The settings in which the items are placed are beautiful and really enhanced the artworks. Combined with the gorgeous location and subtle lighting, the result is a living masterpiece. The self guided tour was the perfect length and meant we felt we got the most out of our visit. Understanding the context in which the artists wanted us to view the works and spotting details that you wouldn’t otherwise have seen. We bought a ticket on arrival and it felt very reasonably priced for the experience. We were walking around at a leisurely pace and didn’t feel as though there were ever more than 2-5 others in a room with us - felt like a hidden gem! The staff were lovely and very helpful. There’s also a beautiful garden cafe for you to enjoy a drink and a toastie after your tour. Highly recommend a visit for anyone interested in art, the natural world, animals, history, and of course, taxidermy. Thank you to the artists, museum directors, and Art Zoo staff for this magical experience.
Very beautiful! Each piece has been set up with love and care. You can see that a lot of attention has been put into the whole museum. The mini docu in the cinema is also super nicely made. As an autistic with a hyperfocus on paleontology, I also had a good cry at the Triceratops skull, not out of sadness but out of overwhelming positive emotions. It touched me so much with how much care and love it hung in the armor and how beautifully everything fit together. Clearly it was looked at with a lot of respect and art in mind and this was certainly clear. Thank you for having this beautiful place.
Small scale, but beautifully set up.
Very surprising museum. Good audio tour and so much to see in a small scale setting. With good weather, the garden is a bonus, as is the dining. We will definitely be back.
