Perfume Making Class

I would rate my experience a 3 out of 5. While everything was eventually worked out and the activity itself was fun, there was a major misunderstanding from the start. The tickets and description clearly advertise perfume and cologne making for $45 during the week and $50 on weekends. We booked for the weekend expecting to make perfume. However, once the session started, I realized it wasn’t actually a perfume-making class. Instead, we were given a very small 5ml roll-on bottle and instructed to create an oil, not perfume. They present this 5ml oil as the “perfume,” but if you actually want a real perfume bottle, you’re told you have to purchase one separately starting at $40 extra. This is not made clear in the booking. The way it’s advertised makes it seem like everything is included, when in reality the full experience can cost around $90 total. We chose not to pay extra because that’s not what we signed up for. This felt very misleading. The experience is advertised as perfume/cologne making, but what you’re actually getting by default is a small oil blend that feels more like a $25–$30 activity. The staff member working with us was very kind and professional, but initially insisted that we booked the correct experience and that the “perfume” referred to the oil. Nothing was resolved until I asked for the owner to be contacted. The owner did eventually allow us to make actual perfume, which I appreciated. However, we didn’t get to choose our bottle, and there were still concerns. The owner mentioned that TripAdvisor creates their own listings and that they have no control over what’s posted. I find that hard to fully accept, since platforms typically rely on information provided by the business. This experience was meant to be a Mother’s Day treat for my mom and sister, so it was a bit disappointing at first. Thankfully, once everything was resolved, everyone ended up happy and satisfied. Even though the experience turned out enjoyable in the end, the process of going back and forth to get what was originally advertised was frustrating. If I hadn’t spoken up, I don’t believe anything would have been corrected. Because of this, I would not return or recommend this experience. Transparency matters, and nowhere in the event description does it state that you will be making oil instead of perfume. Just be aware of how they run things so you’re not caught off guard. I have attached a photo of the small roll on bottle they give you for $50 when they are advertising for perfume making.

Great experience

We had a great time learning about making scented oils. Our host was very professional and made us feel welcomed.
