What an awesome day! We’ve rafted. We’ve been on ropes courses. We’ve zip lined. But to put them all together in an incredibly beautiful setting was the best! Guides were very meticulous about safety, while allowing for fun! We had a great day. My only caution is to take advantage of the pickup from the company. Don’t drive that road in your rental car!
This is the second time we have been back to La Roca Canyoneering and it is such a magical experience. We would never do another canyoneering adventure in Costa Rica! This one is too good. The guides Kendell, José, Elder, and JC are incredible. Their operation is seamless and they are so kind, welcoming, and make you feel very safe. Would highly recommend to anyone who isn’t afraid of heights and doesn’t mind getting wet. Literally best experience of my life.
Such a fun adventure and a great way to experience nature up close! The guides were fun, funny, and very safety oriented. Way better than just zip lining!
This was a great trip to have some thrills and experience things I have never experienced before. The guides had safety in mind all the time and made everything very easy to understand. I am very thankful for the energy and work they put in to give us the best experience!
This was an awesome unique experience with lots of thrills. The guides are super friendly and helpful. The meal that you get was delicious too.
The absolute best day! We had so much fun & the guides were amazing.
We choose the 11 am time slot since 8 am was booked (I think there’s a max of 25 people for each time). The tour is a few hours and there’s so much to see while there. There were 9 people total on the tour including us. There were several guides that were fun, friendly and helpful throughout. You can tell they love their work. The guides gave a great demo at the reception area and then another demo when at the first site. They explained it in a way that made it easy to follow. During the tour, you rappel down several cliffs/waterfalls. It’s very pretty. There are a few small jumps into water. The water was cool but felt refreshing. There are a few zip lines that are fun as well. What goes down must come up. The walk back up was the most challenging part in my opinion. I was definitely winded but I’m not really in shape. Everyone else seemed fine. Breathe through your nose. The end is closer than you think. At the top they had a bottle of water and a towel for everyone which was welcome after that walk. They let you carry your phone if you want but warn you it’s your responsibility and it will get wet. We left ours but had zipper pockets and I wish we would have brought it for amazing photos of the river/waterfalls/jungle. It was a great trip that my husband and I both enjoyed. I highly recommend it!
This is an awesome tour! Lots of fun in a gorgeous environment, but be prepared to be soaking wet. That’s how travel memories are made!
This Canyoning tour with La Roca was the BEST thing we did during our 10-days in Costa Rica!! Ronald, JC, Kendell, and Jose were fabulous guides who were so friendly and kept us safe. Extremely professional. Great value for the money. I would do this again in a heartbeat!
⭐☆☆☆☆ Unfortunately, our experience with this canyoning tour was disappointing for several reasons. First, the guides lacked patience. Canyoning can be intimidating, especially for first-time participants. If someone was nervous or needed a moment to compose themselves, the staff seemed more interested in rushing people through the course than providing reassurance. At times, their attitude came across as rude rather than supportive. Second, a medical emergency occurred involving another participant in our group. Safety should always come first, and we understand that emergencies can happen. However, because of the incident, the final two zipline sections were canceled, meaning we did not receive the complete experience that was advertised. Finally, communication after the tour has been extremely poor. We were told that photos from the activity would be available afterward, but despite reaching out through Viator multiple times, we have yet to receive any response. It appears that the operator may no longer be actively managing customer inquiries. The activity itself had potential, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and the feeling that customer concerns were not taken seriously. I hope the company improves its customer service and post-tour support for future guests.
Dear Chao We are truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. The safety of our guests is always our top priority, and due to a medical emergency involving another participant in the group, we had to end the tour before completing the final two zipline sections. We understand how disappointing this must have been, and for that reason, a partial refund was issued for the portion of the experience that could not be completed. We are saddened to hear that you were not fully satisfied with the adventure, as most of our guests leave with wonderful memories and very positive experiences. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving. Regarding the photos, they were sent to the email address provided the day after your tour. After learning that you had not received them, we resent them again today to ensure you can enjoy those memories. Thank you for choosing La Roca Canyoning, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this unusual situation. We hope that, despite these circumstances, you were still able to take home some great memories of Costa Rica, and we would be honored to welcome you back in the future.
