A bit overdue review, but was recently in Munich again and remember mer that this was hands-down one of the best experiences of our trip to Bavaria. The combination of hiking, incredible beer, authentic Bavarian food, stunning scenery, and local history made this far more than just a “tour” — it felt like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend who truly loves the region. The hike itself was beautiful and very manageable, winding through forests and countryside along the historic St. James Way before arriving at the spectacular Andechs Monastery. The views over the Bavarian landscape and toward the Alps were absolutely gorgeous. The monastery, church, and beer hall exceeded expectations, and the food was outstanding — hearty, authentic, and exactly what you hope for in Bavaria. What really made the experience special was our guide, Rich. He was fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable not only about Bavarian history and the local area, but especially about beer and brewing traditions. You could tell he genuinely loves the subject, and he explained everything in a way that was both informative and fun without ever feeling overly technical. We learned a ton about German beer culture, monastery brewing, styles of beer, and what makes Andechs so special. The pacing was perfect, and the private nature of the tour made everything feel customized and relaxed rather than rushed. The monk-brewed Andechs beer absolutely lived up to its reputation, and ending the day near Lake Ammersee was the perfect touch. If you enjoy beer, hiking, food, culture, or simply getting outside Munich for an authentic Bavarian experience, this is an absolute must-do. Easily a five-star experience and one of the highlights of our entire Germany trip. Prost! 🍺

This was our favorite tour on our trip to Munich! Rich was incredibly knowledgeable about Munich and surrounding areas and most of all Beer! We learned so much and the hike to Andechs was beautiful. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Highly recommend! Thank you Rich for the wonderful experience!

Can't say enough great things about Rich and this tour. It was informative, scenic, and an overall perfect day learning about the monastery. Rich was attentive and engaging, answering any questions and leading us to all the good beer spots. A trip definitely worth your time!

This tour was definitely a highlight of our vacation. Rich Carbonara our guide was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, easy going, and was committed to providing a great experience for us. The hike up to the monastery was relatively easy, scenic, and Rich provided great stories along the way. He takes his beer seriously and we learned so much on the tour. He also provided resources and tips for the next two countries we were visiting. The lunch was delicious and the beer was excellent, and Andechs is in a beautiful setting. Everyone should do this tour especially if you like beer!

Rich made our Munich trip one to remember. He was easy to reach and quick to respond over text, which made planning simple. Rich is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the monastery’s history, the beer, and the food. He even surprised us with a thoughtful gift at the end. An all-around fantastic experience.

We scheduled this as a final day business excursion. It had been an exhausting week and the weather had been cold all week so the group for the hike had diminished to just 3 women. The three of us had such an enjoyable time on the hike, it was just what we needed to recover from sitting all week in meetings. It was a truly memorable and bonding experience and the sun even came out as we reached the lake to smile upon us. Rich was equal parts patient, accommodating, and entertaining. Moreover the views are amazing and the food was fantastic!
