1. A barragem, também conhecida como a cidade construída sobre árvores: Devido ao solo em Amsterdã consistir em uma espessa camada de charco e argila, alguns edifícios da cidade são construídos em postes de madeira que são fixados em uma camada de areia que é aproximadamente 11 metros de profundidade. A menor casa de Amsterdã foi construída por volta de 1700 e foi usada pela primeira vez como local de armazenamento para a empresa de comércio VOC. Mais tarde, as pessoas começaram a viver na casa por muito tempo.

Brian was an awesome tour guide and really did make us totally aware of the true red light district. He very informative while giving everyone a laugh or a smile. So very much worth it
Brian was an absolutely amazing tour guide! He knew so much, not just about the Red Light District, but he also threw in tons of cool history facts about the city too.
Great tour. Robin was entertaining and gave a a great history lesson about the city of Amsterdam. We enjoyed learning about the Red Light district . Definitely a worthwhile tour. The 2 hours flew by.
Aarre was fantastic. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the red light district. He was very personable, and we enjoyed his charming personality.
Guide was outstanding! Learn much more than expected. Pro Tip, take a later tour and a Fri/Sat if you have the option. We took a Thursday 6pm tour and there were no “windows” open. We walked back through about 8:30 and several of the previously closed windows were open.
We had a fantastic tour of Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Our guide Ben was enthusiastic, informative and had a great sense of humour. He made the whole experience both interesting and entertaining. This tour is a must!
