It's was a good experience with a cool guide Mr. Paul. We have see a lot of thing : train market, temple, animals, Amphawa market, a boat tour with fireflies.
We're so pleased you had such a fun day exploring Amphawa! From the famous railway market to the peaceful firefly boat ride, we're glad you enjoyed every part of the journey. We'll be sure to share your kind words with Paul. Thank you for traveling with WanderSiam, and we hope to see you again soon.
Fun excursion with a great host
Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you had an enjoyable experience and we hope to see you back on one of our other tours!
Piya, our tour guide, was so informative, enthusiastic and friendly. He definitely made the last day of our Thailand trip memorable and special.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour and hope to welcome you again on a future trip in Thailand.
The railway market is worth seeing and the guide knows when to take you there. The floating market isn't on the canal anymore but on the canal bank which is still nice to see. As it is a long ride to the places you need a sociable guide, which Paul truly was.
Sawadee kha Sabine, Thank you so much for your kind words! We really appreciate your positive review and it was great to have you on our tour. We look forward to welcoming you again!
Kitty (guide) and Jaroen (driver) were very engaging, accommodating and humorous. We were immersed in history, culture, natural beauty and delicious street food and throughly enjoyed our time with them. Highly recommend them both.
Thank you for your review and for joining our tour. We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable experience and hope to welcome you again in the future.
I enjoyed the train market, the fireflies, the floating market and the really cool temple. Our guide Oui was very kind and accommodating to our needs. The drive there was long, and because of traffic and construction, we missed the 2:30 train and then waited for the 3:30. That was fine but it put us behind schedule. The floating market is on the sides of the river. There are not really any boats selling items to you on the river. It is not over crowded like the Damnoen Saduak market ( which is a tourist trap) so I liked it better. I also liked being there in the evening because it was cooler and we got to see the fireflies. The drive back was very long. The traffic was terrible. We didn’t get to our hotel until well after 11pm so it made for a long journey. I recommend this tour because it is more unique than the usual floating market tour, but just be warned that getting there and back is a long drive. A good option would be to stay the night there and make arrangements to come back the next day.
Thank you for your review and your detailed feedback. Glad to hear that you had an enjoyable trip overall. Traffic and road conditions can indeed be unpredictable at times. We understand this can make the day feel quite long. We appreciate your recommendation and your helpful suggestion about staying overnight (we can offer a tailormade 2-day tour as well), which can indeed make the experience more relaxed. Thank you again for sharing your experience.
The “floating market” description is completely misleading. It’s a market with stalls near the water NOT vendors selling food/goods from their boat. Six of the eight passengers on our trip specifically booked this tour expecting an actual floating market. It is also more than 4 hours round trip which wasn’t specified. We think it was a wasteful journey.
Dear Jane, Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations, although I must say I’m disappointed to receive a 1-star review. On the Viator tour page where you made your booking, we clearly explain in two different places (under ‘Itinerary’ and ‘Additional Info’) that Amphawa is not a floating market with countless boats. The following text is clearly stated on the tour page: “Don’t expect countless vendors in boats at Amphawa Market; this market is more like a canal-side market. In Thai, these markets are called ‘talat nam’, which literally means ‘water market’, but is translated to English as ‘floating market’. Of course, there are some vendors on small wooden boats that cook and sell their food to visitors. But you will mostly find dozens of restaurants and food stalls along the canal serving delicious food and local delicacies.” This information is provided so guests know exactly what to expect before booking. We therefore do not agree that the description is misleading. When booking a tour, we always recommend reading the tour information carefully so expectations match the experience. Despite your disappointment, we hope you still have a wonderful time in Thailand. Dave
