Em Pella, a antiga capital do Império macedônio e cidade natal de Alexandre, o Grande, veremos o sítio arqueológico com a extensa escavação macedônia contendo uma excelente coleção de mármores, mosaicos e estatuetas de terracota desenterradas aqui.
Em Vergina, você visitará os vestígios mais importantes do palácio monumental do Reino da Macedônia, ricamente decorado com mosaicos e estuques pintados, e o cemitério com mais de 300 túmulos, alguns dos quais datam do século XI a.C. Um dos túmulos reais é identificado como o de Filipe II, que conquistou todas as cidades gregas, abrindo caminho para seu filho Alexandre o Grande e a expansão do mundo helenístico

Exceptional experience and worth the money. Took around 7hrs but it went in so fast. I would recommend both the driver and the guide! If you’re going to do this excursion and go all the way up there from Thessaloniki then do it with the guide!

Our guide was terrific! It was a little pricey, but so worth it! I couldn’t believe everything we were able to see and do. The highlight was seeing the tombs and all that they recovered from them . Definitely take this trip!

Our guide wondered why we had chosen this particular tour. We were trying to follow the history of Alexander the Great. It was a long day of driving but we were especially rewarded in Vergina. Here were discovered four tombs-two never ransacked. Buried deep underground, was the intact tomb of Phillip II, father of Alexander the Great. The treasures buried with him were countless and beautiful. Though much is known about Alexander, his burial site has never been identified. Thus, this site remains extraordinary.
