Ala Archa e Chunkurchak Day Tour com Skybridge e Cable Car

I'm torn about whether the provider here was well-intentioned but out of his depth, or whether this was sort of a scam. I was picked up (15 minutes late) after being provided some slightly vague (Ala-Too Square, which is a big place), slightly sketchy (the pin and address for the meet-up location was a souvenir store where employees knew nothing about this tour) communication about the meet-up point, though subsequent communication via WhatsApp was pretty solid. I was picked up by the provider in his private vehicle with one other passenger. I had kind of expected a larger group and a more formal tour operation, but that was just my own false expectation. With that said, there was also no sign that this provider was actually affiliated with Tranquil Holidays (a well-established tourism provider) as advertised, and I'm still not sure if that was the case or not. The positives: We went to all of the sights listed on the itinerary, and it was also very efficiently accomplished in the advertised 6 hours. Because it was just two of us on the "tour," we had great flexibility to spend more or less time at the different stops. The negatives: My primary point of dissatisfaction is that there was NO guided tour, nor could this activity be construed as "English speaking." I received WhatsApp messages in advance in English, undoubtedly using Google Translate - no problem. But I came to this activity expecting English instruction about the logistics for the day, an overview of the places we were visiting, perhaps some history or context for these destinations. Instead it was basically a silent car ride (until my fellow passenger and I struck up a conversation). Our provider had extremely little English proficiency and didn't try to fill the gap using Google Translate or other means of conveying information. There was pointing in the direction of ticket machines, and follow up WhatsApp messages letting us know we should meet him back at the car (after he dropped us at the bus to Ala-Archa). If what was advertised was car service to these destinations, I would've been satisfied with what was provided. The vehicle was clean, he drove safely, and he was generally pleasant, despite being entirely quiet. But I paid for a guided tour in English and really didn't receive one.
