Great experience! Cesar was extremely knowledgeable, patient and personalized the experience for us. Food and drinks were delicious 😋. Didn't care for the tequila tasting. The gentleman who hosted it was short and only interested if you purchased some tequila. He spoke so fast you couldn't understand what you sampling.
We had an amazing time. Communication great before hand. Took advantage of pay later option. Was picked up promptly and transported via taxi to the beach park. The weather was not good that day, so really couldn't take advantage of the beach. But there was a very nice, covered area where you could sit. The buffet and drinks were ok. The staff was very nice and attentive. The cigar rolling class was awesome. Nice small class. The cigar roller was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Drinks were served during the class which was nice. They have someone there taking pictures. My only complaint is that they charged us more for our pictures than they charged others in the class, which was very disappointing.
Had a great time at the cigar class, it was so informative and a really fun way to try something new! However, this class was the only place we felt like we got what we paid for - the beach was closed so we weren’t able to participate in any of the outdoor activities. While I understand this is out of the company’s hands, we still hoped to enjoy the activities on the shore and make the most of our day. While we had paid for access from 9-6, when we came out of the cigar making class we found out they decided to close the entire facility about two hours early, and asked for us to leave. Overall, we enjoyed using the water slide, but other than that we found the food subpar and the day was not as fulfilling as we would have liked.
Great experience wrapping my own cigar. Open bar during the experience. Lots of hand-on assistance. *included transportation was a Taxi. Was able to get back to the boat on my own timeline. Just had to talk to the transportation Coordinator on site. Was able to spend a little time at the park, and still get back to my ship with plenty of time to spare. *Tobacco used in the cigar was Mexican in sourcing. Was told to wait two weeks to smoke because we had to moisten the leaves to be able to handle them. *Included access to a waterpark, and buffet.
It is a place to spend the day in Cozumel! You can get from Playa del Carmen by ferry and you are there the day, you have meals and drinks included and all the facilities of the place! There are activities for big and small! Kids only swimming pools with games, the sea has some free activities to do at sea like inflatables, snorkeling and non-motorized activities! You must pay for towels, umbrellas, motorized activities and ice cream and candy, plus diving lessons and so on! The menu is basic but has good taste, dogs, fajitas, nachos and potatoes etc! It is a good activity to do a while in Cozumel!
We really enjoyed the class. We learned a lot about tobacco, cigars, and how to have a great smoke. The folks holding the class were very accommodating and patient with us. This was almost like a cooking class. We would do this again in a heartbeat.
The cigar class was wonderful! Would highly recommend the class to any cigar lover. Viator needs to update their pickup directions. The email stated that we needed to meet about two blocks away from the port and references a restaurant that hasn’t been in business since Covid. After waiting in the location as directed for 30 minutes we called the number for Playa Mia on the confirmation and was told the pick up is now located inside the port. This made us late for the class, but fortunately they were able to wait for us. We did not stay long on the beach, no shade available and it was a very hot and sunny day. Returned to ship early.
Anna, the Cuban roller, does such a great job teaching. This is our second time going and it was even better. Also serve authentic mojitos during the rolling class and they are delicious. Gives you a much greater appreciation of the making of a cigar. *Viatours intructions for the meeting place are all outdated and almost caused us to miss the tour. We had to call the beach resort on our dime to find out where to meet.
The beach break was just okay, but learning an authentic Cuban style cigar wrap and the attention to detail the teacher presented was so fascinating and fun. The instructors were easy to understand and very helpful and knowledgeable. Great experience!
This was so much fun. The roller and her assistant are great, and make sure you have a fantastic experience and leave with a perfect cigar. They teach you how to roll a cigar the Cuban way. I now know how to make a "triple cap"!!
