What an incredible experience exploring the caves. Bunso was very careful to show us different terrain and geographic features, he also helped us light some great action photos. Highly recommend.
This is as amazing as all the rest of the reviews state and was probably one of the best things we did on our pretty exhaustive trip to the Philippines. Since Cavinti Cave Complex is only recently discovered, very few people know about it (not even my local Manila-based family members had heard of it), so we had the whole cave complex to ourselves and felt like we were living a real-life Indiana Jones adventure. When we went, it was just us, a local guide, my 77 year-old mom, two kids ages 10 and 12, and a YOLO guide (John — who was awesome!). We’d skipped spelunking in Sagada because Cavinti sounded way more accessible for our family group and less touristy — all of which were true. We spent a couple of hours in the cave, wading through chest deep water, on our knees at points, and finding ourselves in vast cathedral-sized caverns with interior waterfalls and pools of water, brimming with glittering awe-inspiring stalactites and stalagmites, with only the light of our headlamps to illuminate our way. I mean, wow. My mom had no problem with maneuvering through the cave thanks to having additional support from the YOLO guide, which would not have been possible likely anywhere else. Couple tips — wear good water shoes with grip, you’ll need them. Bring along a waterproof camera case — you are going to get wet. Finally, please check out the YOLO combo tour with Cavinti Cave and shooting the popular Pagsanjan Falls rapids on the same day, on their site. It’s only a 30-minute drive away in the same area, and if you’re going to drive the 3 hours from Manila already anyway, this is well worth adding in. It’s the perfect combo for adventure. We started the first half of the day spelunking the Cavinti Cave complex, then had a nice lunch, and afterwards hit the rapids early/midafternoon when it was practically empty on the river. It was the perfect day and an epic adventure! While this was the most expensive tour we took in the Philippines by far, it was well worth it. YOLO was professional, organized, had a great guide and driver, and this combo tour isn’t offered by anyone else. Enjoy!
Kenji was an amazing guide. Caves were worth the trip. Scenaru on the way also great Take food and snacks. Easier than trying to find.
We went with guide Kenji and driver Pedro. Simply the best. So knowledgeable and kind. Great sharing stories etc. The caves are amazing. We had family of 4. 2 kids (10 and 13) and all loved it. Long drive but so interesting to see the countryside on the way.
It was a beautiful trip. We were picked up perfectly on time from our meeting point and had a super funny driver. The cave was very suitable for everyone. At the entrance and in the middle you have to duck, otherwise really easy to walk. Swimming was a lot of fun. In the end we were in a very nice and clean philosophical restaurant.
Cavinti Cave was amazing! You get to drive through a jungle to get to the cave. Red was our driver and Jonathan was our guide. Both were amazing, and went above and beyond to make our experience so enjoyable. We got a little wet in the cave but nothing that wasn’t fun. We even got to take a shower in the cave from a natural waterfall coming out of it. You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to get fully wet though. My boyfriend and I explored the cave for 2.5 hours then had time to swim in this beautiful river and take in the jungle views. On the drive back they would have stopped anywhere If we wanted to along the way. Jonathan took us to this place on the drive home to try a filipino pastry and it was delicious. Such a wonderful experience!
The tour guide Andrei was great. Very friendly and easy to talk too. Pickup was directly at the hotel. Travel time is several hours. Communications for pick up was timely. Cave exploring. These items are provided, but it would be better to have your own. Recommendation for the experience. Bring your own helmet with a good head light. A good flash light. Be prepared to into water up to your chest. Water and snacks. Water proof phone and lights. Clothing should be made for water and shoes should be good for getting wet. Come to explore a awesome cave.
Simply amazing…my words will do injustice to the Cavinti Laguna Cave complex nature’s magical kingdom. Of course YOLO tour staff, Yves your the man and Brandon you made it possible to reach our destination.
Very good tour, lovely tour guide Sean and driver Marlon. The caves were cool, lots of bats to be seen.
A long ride can be expected since the destination is quite far from Manila. However, with great guides Joannah, Einstein and the driver Marlon, it's worth the traveling time. Less crowded was also a great reason to join this trip. You wouldn't see people everywhere ruining great picture moments. Perhaps due to summer, the water level was low so didn't get myself wet!
