6 Dias Premium Rocky Rail Adventure: YVR to YYC Rocky Mountaineer

Definitely 11/10. The most amazing trip, 5*. Service all the way, food, drink and nibbles galore! Scenery is absolutely stunning too!

This was a trip of a lifetime, the scenery was amazing, the service was top drawer. They handled everything from hotel reservations, transfers to and from the train, baggage handling and excursions on tour busses. If you’re concerning this trip go for it you will be glad you did!!!

Both the service and the quisine were exceptional but nothing can compare with the beauty and majesty that our God created in the Canadian Rockies.

Stunning scenery along the way and superior service on the train. Meals were culinary delight, white tablecloths, etc. Very clean washrooms and coaches. Seats on the train were the best ever seen. Drinks, both alcoholic and non, were plentiful and at no charge. Perhaps the reason my husband and I both arrived home with Covid—passengers all removed masks for the ongoing food and beverage service. The only problems worth mentioning were the sometimes long days on the train, which we were warned about, and the shortage of Rocky Mountaineer staff when we arrived at hotels. After so much attention on the train all of a sudden we were left to fend for ourselves. Guides on the motor coaches were excellent and the sights we were taken to were awesome. The Banff gondola was especially good.

Lisa (tour guide) was a stand out for the week. She was engaging, caring and was great at taking photos. She made sure everyone was very clear on the instructions and back on time. Despite the Jasper wild fires, Lisa still made sure everyone was taken care of and was very clear on options that we would do if shops weren’t open due to electricity. David was also very good. But Lisa was the best.

We went on our honeymoon with the rocky mountaineer from Calgary to Vancouver. Fantastic crew Karsten, Alex, Kailie and May. They exceeded our expectations. Thank you all for the fantastic memories. Food fantastic.

Favorite part of the experience? Not possible to say that given the awe-inspiring scenery, accomodations and personnel from any of the locations we experienced. The ongoing travelogue from any of our guides along the way was incredibly informative, and the visuals very special. The crew on our car, Jordan, Emily, Olivia and David looked after us incredibly well. Highlights? Lake Louise, Jasper and Lake Maligne. Food on the train? Incredible. Food and drink at the hotels? Incredibly overpriced for what you get. Only one slight dig was that the music onboard made it feel like more of a party bus. I would have enjoyed some more pastoral music mixed in, but a small quibble. Otherwise, a world-class experience.

The Rocky Mountaineer train trip was great you see some beautiful scenery you are fed very well in some cases overfed. The transfer to your hotels each night need better organising 1 lost my bag and was not find it till after 10 o'clock that night and no apology given and in Banff we were to have our luggage collected from our room then taken to the bus but at the bus we had to collect our bags of the trolley and hand the to the organiser who marked them off some 30 to 50 passangers sorting through luggage a complete unorganised mess . 2 At the time it was a warm day about 20C after a day's travelling the bus that collected us had the heater jamed on high and we were required to sit at the station until a organiser gave the OK to leave. Should we do this trip again we would fly to Jasper or Banff and then catch the train

a fulfilled day to see different tourist spots not too rush and relaxing some walking and arrangements are just perfect guides are caring all the way helpful and give nice reminders

I had a terrible experience, So i booked this tour for today May 7th 2021. received booking confirmation and got the ticket along with pick up point and tour details. I took unpaid off from my work and uber to reach the pick up location in Calgar NE(it was a hotel). pick up time was 7:30 AM and i was there at 7:15 AM. I waited there till 8 AM and there was no sign of the tour bus, hotel management knew nothing about the tour. I called Westar Travel LTD twice and they never picked up my calls. I came back at my place and Contact Trip advisor/Viator they helped me to get my refund for the tour. Viator is no doubt very friendly and professional in customer care. I requested compensation for my uber rides but it was declined by the tour company(Westar Travel LTD.) even if the tour was canceled due to any reason Westar Travel should have sent me a communication about it instead they did not received my calls. so basically i lost my full day, I lost one day income, uber rides and now i have nothing to do today. thanks to TripAdvisor/Viator I atleast got my tour payment back.
