Our guide, Bill Thurston, was fantastic. He was on time, vehicle was great. He knew so much about the history of the area, the changes in the area over time caused by Mother Nature & humans. He gave us so much info about the rich & famous past & present. He told us how the park was created & preserved. He was a very careful driver. We would highly recommend this company and ask for Bill!! It was worth the cost.

Ed is an awesome tour guide with a wealth of information about Bar Harbor and history in general. Very intelligent and knows more than just history as he can provide you with j formation about the local flora and fauna. He is very sweet and answers any questions you have.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed your time with Ed. His knowledge of Bar Harbor, Acadia’s history, and the local flora and fauna makes touring with him such a special experience. We’re lucky to have him on our team, and we’ll be sure to share your kind words with him. Thank you for choosing At Your Service Tours!
I am a solo female traveller. I paid $725 for this day tour. The amount paid was not worth it. I felt very uncomfortable at several moments where my guide touched my arm, wanted to speak with me about romantic relationships, commented on my looks, and spoke as if we were on a date. Being a long time solo traveller, I know to be calm & polite in these situations to avoid awkwardness. I would have preferred things remain completely professional & to not be touched at all. I know if I would have been present with a male traveler, I would not have had to deal with this. I'm sure the guide meant no harm, he was friendly, but I don't think it's fair that due to being a solo female traveller. I have to pay so much, and yet be made to feel uncomfortable. I expect extreme professionalism for this exorbitant price. Please, do better for (all) your customers. It was not fair how I was treated. Aside from that, the park is beautiful & the van is nice, but again, not at all worth the price.
As a woman owned company I am deeply sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable at points during your private tour. We take the safety, comfort, and peace of mind of our solo female travelers with the utmost seriousness. The behavior you described does not align with the strict standards of professionalism we expect from our team. I am addressing this directly with the guide involved. Luckily we have go pros on our vehicles. I also want to apologize for the frustration regarding the cost. To clarify for our guests, our private tours are priced as a flat group rate for the vehicle, accommodating groups of up to six people, rather than an individual per-person ticket. However, regardless of group size, every single guest deserves a flawless, professional, and secure experience, and we clearly fell short of your expectations.
Our Guide Bill was great. Very knowledgeable and even though the weather was DISMAL he made it a good time. Good way to figure out where you want to explore further. We whole heartedly endorse At Your Service tours.
Thanks!! So glad Bill kept things fun despite that gloomy weather and helped you map out your next moves. Your shoutout means everything to the At Your Service team. See you next time—hopefully with some sunshine

We had a lovely time with Pete, our tour guide! He was knowledgeable about the area and answered all the questions we had. He was flexible in terms of itinerary and stopped when we wanted to get a picture of something we saw. The fall colors were absolutely stunning! For the most part, everyone could hear Pete's explanations of what we were seeing, especially when we stopped at different places. However, there were times when he was answering the questions of the person in the front seat and he didn't talk loud enough for everyone in the van to hear. Perhaps he thought he was simply having a private conversation with the person next to him? We had five adults in the van, and there seemed to be plenty of room. I would definitely recommend a private tour with this company.
Thank you so much for joining us! We are thrilled to hear that you had a lovely time with Pete and that he was able to tailor the itinerary so you could capture those stunning fall colors. We will certainly share this feedback with Pete and the rest of our team to ensure we’re more mindful of voice projection and engagement with the entire van throughout the tour
Mary is a consummate local 'historian' and great tour guide who loves to share her wonder and true appreciation for this beautiful area! We sensed a sweet sincerity in her concise interpretation and explanation of the cultural, historical and folklore of the Acadia area. Also had a chance to see some of the more out of the way local favorite drive spots that a tour bus would not be able to drive thru such as some of the more exclusive private homes and properties on small roads. And lastly, she made sure that there was more than enough time to get lots of photos for the memories of it all!!! We could never have known about so much hidden beauty that is all around this beautiful area. So...thank you kindly Mary!
It’s wonderful that you were able to see those hidden gems and exclusive spots that the big buses just can't reach—that’s exactly the kind of 'hidden beauty' we love sharing with our guests! We will be sure to pass your thanks along to Mary; she will be so happy to hear she helped you capture those perfect photos.
We had a wonderful 4-hour tour with At Your Service Tours. Our driver was Dana and she was amazing. She had a lot of knowledge about the history of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park and was genuinely eager to share it with us. Interestingly, she also was very familiar with the geology of the area as well as very informed about the local flora and fauna. Beavers were a particular area of interest for her and we enjoyed learning about their industrious habits. Dana also regaled us with wonderful stories about how the residents of the island support each other as neighbors especially during the long winter season. One in our group had mobility issues and Dana helped with his wheelchair and made sure he fully enjoyed the tour. The van was comfortable, clean, and stocked with water and sweet and savory snacks. I highly recommend At Your Service Tours!
Thank you so much for this wonderful feedback! We are thrilled to hear that Dana provided such an amazing and educational experience for your group. She is a wealth of knowledge on everything from the island's geology to our industrious local beavers, and we love that her passion for Mount Desert Island truly shone through.
great natural views, including changing leaves, varying landscapes and ocean views. Made even better by a personable and vey knowledgeable guide.
Our guides pride themselves on being local experts, so we’re thrilled to hear that their knowledge helped bring the landscape to life for you. Thank you for the kind words, and we hope to welcome you back to the island for another beautiful season!
