We had a really great with Daniel! We had 6 people in our party and the pricing option for this private tour was SO much better than going through the cruise or other options. Plus it was just us in our own van and Daniel made sure to make the day whatever we wanted. We got to see a bear in the wild, do a tiny bit of nature/hiking as expected (most of us are not nature people). We saw deer and eagles and salmon and starfish and totem poles! He explained a lot of the island to us. Overall just a really great day and exactly what we were looking for for our day in Ketchikan!
Shad was great, waiting as we got off of our cruise ship, and going the extra mile to make sure we had the best chance of seeing a bear in the wild. Meanwhile he also gave us a great general tour AND WE SAW A BEAR!
Tucker was a great guide who knew how to avoid the crowds of the other cruise ships. Had a fantastic lunch off the beaten path. Would definitely recommend!
Hannah was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Her timing of the different aspects/parts of the tour made for a hassle-free experience! Her personality is (on a scale of 1 to 10) a 15!!!
Shad was friendly and a wealth of knowledge. We had so much fun learning about the salmon run and the local culture. We saw bears, eagles, waterfalls, the salmon run. Shad is thoughtful and provided binoculars and a stop to a salmon shop for samples. Highly recommend.
Tiffany was great, she showed us around the down and she is very knowledgeable. The main highlights: salmons and seal catching salmon, bear mom with two cubs, and a male bear near by, water fall.
We just got back from an awesome tour of Ketchikan with Shad, and he absolutely made the day! Pickup was right on time, and after asking us a few questions about what we wanted to see, he had the day mapped out and we were off. We saw eagles, salmon, and bears… OH MY! Pretty much the full Alaska experience without having to wrestle a bear ourselves. Shad was friendly, knowledgeable, and knew exactly where to take us to make the most of our time in Ketchikan. The tour never felt rushed or like we were just being hauled from one tourist stop to another. And whatever you do, DO NOT pass up Simply Salmon! Get the salmon spread. Seriously. Get it. You can thank me later. If you’re looking for a fun, laid-back, and memorable way to see Ketchikan, spend the day with Shad. Great tour, great guide, and one heck of a way to experience Alaska! Ohhhh and ask to see the starfish!!
Jen was an awesome tour guide. Because our group was so large we utilized the whole nus for our group. We saw 15-20 eagles, and a couple of bears. When we went to the beach Jen found a couple star fish and the kids loved getting their pictures taken with it. Hen also took an awesome picture of our group of 15 that we’ll cherish for ever. When she dropped us off in Ketchikan she provided great directions to the best places.
Great tour! Loved seeing the salmon and the bear!
Guide talked about his family most of the time. Didn’t see any bears, but that wasn’t his fault. He brought up pot use by fishermen at least fives times. Ketchikan was great. Guide not so much.
