Alessia our chef was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and really taught us how to cook the pasta. She shared many techniques and was very personable. We had a great time and would highly recommend it. One of our highlights of the trip.
My wife and I recently took the three hour pasta making class in Florence as an excursion during our recent Mediterranean Cruise. Our “Nona” for the day shared her secrets and supervised our kitchen work enabling us to make Italian Restaurant quality dishes which we later ate with gusto. The wine and company were excellent. We cannot wait to show off our new culinary skills to friends and family. Highly recommend this experience to all foodies.
I have been to several cooking classes, and this one was very hospitable. There was cheese, charcuterie and wine available upon our arrival and the actual class was small enough for everyone to stay involved and engaged. I appreciated that we all did each task at our own work bench (unlike a lot of classes that make you work in groups). My only critique is that as the evening continued the class became less organized and our involvement as students declined (for instance, we didn't get to plate the food). And not all of the actual recipes we made that night were available for us to download afterwards and repeat at home. The kitchen is very clean and organized, the food delicious and the chef kind. My favorite part is we got to use fresh artichokes because they were in season.
Our chef, Elena, was awesome! My husband who is not a cook became inspired and just made the tiramsu dessert he was taught in our class. He did a great job! It was delicious only bc Elena was an inspiring teacher who made us all feel confident in our abilities. Loved this class!
Wonderful experience!! Everything was so much fun!!
Fabulous evening with Giorgio. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed. The entire evening was well structured- instructions were easy to follow along with and there were lots of opportunities to ask questions. We wish we had a notepad to take down all the tips, techniques and tricks! The studio was warm and inviting - a real treat to experience cooking in a 15th century building. Giorgio was entertaining and shared a lot of his background and experience. Our entire family (two kids in early 20s) loved it. And the food was delicious!
Wonderful experience! Great food! Great instructor! Tons of fun! I took my Study Abroad class of 8 students. All the students agreed that this was one of the highlights of their time in Italy.
I went to the pasta making class as part of a group. We had only just met and it was a great way to get to know everyone. We made pasta, a filling and tiramsui. We had canapés and wine before and whilst making our pasta. We then had the pleasure of eating our efforts which was lovely. I never thought I'd be able to make pasta and the tiramsui was the best I'd ever tasted but so simple to make. Would definitely recommend, a delightful experience.
We were met with appetizers and Prosecco and friendly greetings from the chefs. The demonstration made making pasta look easy, the making of pasta ourselves was more difficult but made me appreciative of the amount of physical work in making pasta. Thanks especially to the kitchen girl Alessia who helped me knead my dough. The stuffing for the ravioli was simple, easy and oh! so tasty later when we ate our work. And tho I've never made a tiramisu I have eaten many. The one we made in class was stupendous. Recipes were made available. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful with our shyness and bumbling, and the foods we ate from our creations were truly yummy.
During our family vacation in Florence, we attended a cooking class at the Florence Food Studio, led by the talented Chef Meri. This experience proved to be an absolute highlight of our trip! From the moment we entered the kitchen, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by Chef Meri and the team. The atmosphere was inviting and made us feel right at home. The class covered a variety of traditional dishes, including homemade pasta, Panzanella salad, lightly breaded chicken, and Tiramisu. Chef Mair guided us through each recipe, providing valuable tips and techniques that made us feel confident in recreating these dishes at home. Chef Meri shared fascinating anecdotes about Florentine culinary traditions, ingredients, and the significance of each dish in Italian culture. This enriched our understanding and appreciation of the food we were preparing. The hands-on nature of the class allowed us to actively participate in every step, from kneading the pasta dough to assembling the Tiramisu. The Florence Food Studio, under Chef Mair's expert guidance, provided an authentic and unforgettable culinary experience that we will value for years to come. I highly recommend the Florence Food Studio to anyone seeking a unique and engaging way to immerse themselves in Italian culture. The combination of Chef Meri’s teaching, the intimate setting and the focus on storytelling make this cooking class an unforgettable experience!
