This was a highly enjoyable and informative tour showcasing the vibrant street art/graffiti scene of central Lisbon. Our tour guide Erica has a background in art history. Accordingly, she was able to provide in an engaging manner the historical, political and cultural implications of the many artistic creations featured on the tour. One can learn a lot about the social fabric of a society based on the street art that permeates throughout the city. This tour proved to demonstrate the dynamic and socially creative urban environment of contemporary Lisbon.
Our tour guide, Erica, was simply fabulous! We walked all around the city (be prepared with good walking shoes) and she showed us so many different kinds of street art. She pointed out the different kinds of art, styles of each artist, what message they are trying to send, and Erica knows so much history of Portugal and how that is reflected in the street art all over Lisbon. It was truly the highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend and if you have Erica leading the way, you're in for a treet.
The street art in Lisbon is such an important part of the culture. Our guide did an excellent job of showing us key displays and explaining their significance.
Great experience, professional artist who grew up in Lisbon showed us around and told us about how street art is part of the Lisbon Community. If you want something a little different Id highly reccomend this tour!!! Duogo was the guide and he brought his adorable assistant Billy the dog with him!
Loved this tour! Our guide was so knowledgeable about every piece she showed us and it was evident how much she loved the city as well as it's art culture. Truly a unique and beautiful way to see and understand the history of Lisbon. I regret not booking this at the beginning of our stay as it would've been amazing to spot more artistic finds around the city.
Erica was our tour guide, and she was excellent. She knew exactly where to go, what to talk about (at each stop and between), and made excellent connections between local, regional culture and art history. Yes, folk can walk and see so much of these public art pieces for free. . .but the community and cultural connections? That's what we pay for: an expert who doesn't come off like a university lecturer. Glad to pay more, for this tour, when it empowers someone like Erica.
Thank you so much 😊 Really glad you enjoyed the tour and Erica’s way of connecting the art with the city’s culture, we really appreciate your kind words!
This tour was a great way to walk through the different areas of city, learn about its street art and the history behind it. Erica was a wonderful guide. She really enhanced my stay in Lisbon.
Thank you so much 😊 Really happy to hear you enjoyed exploring Lisbon with Erica and that the tour added to your stay!
Our guide was knowledgeable and this street art was both pretty and interesting. Knowing about the history of the area, the background of the artists and some of the techniques the artists use makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
Thank you so much! 😊 We love that you enjoyed not just the art, but also the stories and techniques behind it, that’s where Lisbon really comes alive. Hope to see you again for more discoveries!
Erica was an excellent tour guide who showed us a wide range of street art while providing insightful explanations about the artists, the culture of the city, and the history of Portugal. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in discovering unique artwork and experiencing a fantastic way to explore Lisbon.
Thank you for the amazing words! 🙌 Erica will be so happy to hear this. So glad you enjoyed the mix of art, culture, and history, it’s one of our favorite ways to explore Lisbon too!
Erika did an awesome job with this walking tour. Not only did we get to see a variety of excellent street art in Lisbon, but we also learned a bit about Lisbon history, saw beautiful Lisbon sites, and explored a few different neighborhoods. Erika’s deep knowledge of the artists, enthusiasm for the subject and natural kindness made it feel like we were walking the streets of Lisbon with a friend who happened to be a street art history expert. Highly recommended!
This is such a lovely review — thank you! 😊 Erica will love the “street art expert friend” description, that’s exactly the vibe we aim for. So happy you enjoyed the walk with us!
